His mixing was tight, but his track selection was nothing special at all.
Anyone can get up there and bang out 2 hours of trance classics from 99 especially on CD!
Seeing guys like Armin is totally different, the present to us a heap of new tracks and take us on a journey starting with say proggy stuff and working his way through. Darey just played straight uplifting for 2.5hours and well he kinda lost me for a bit because i got bored. I prefer a dj to play a range of styles and present a journey set.
Im kinda over hearing all those old classics so i did get bored at stages, especially when he played a bit hard in the middle there.
I mean you cant honestly say that one of us djs odd TA here couldnt have played the exact same set, it was nothing special at all!
As i said to some others, it was a great set cause it was MATT DAREY, only he could really get away with that. If i played like that i would get bagged out!
anyways, thats my thoughts.

How can you say that he played straight uplifting 4 2.5 hours, then say the played harder in the middle. He progressed to hardER trance and back again. That was his journey and range of style
That said, i know TOTALLY what you mean and agree with you.
