My opinion.......

A lot of people have point out a lot of things I wanna say but again:

ATB is a good producer and DJ.........He is the one that got me into Trance (or dance music....as some of you refer to).

9pm til I come and Don't stop are very original at that moment........It might consider be chesse or commerical nowdays but remember those tracks were produce in 1998

I don't listen to his shit anymore because most of them sound the same and lack originality

Anyone heard 9pm Til I Come (Matt Darey Remix)?.......now that shit is mint

I got into Trance because of ATB. Honestly, Don't Stop was my favorite "Trance" song

Although ATB is more of euro-dance than trance, his catchy, uplifting, and happy sound opens the door to electronic music for a lot of people.

I think the second CD of that album is terrific...just great chilled trance.

Agreed on the second CD point...I don't see how anyone can accuse him of being a wholesale sell-out, because people only into the music to make money do not, not, not add a chilled CD as a bonus disc to their new album, there's just not enough of a demand by mainstream audiences for that style.

Movin' Melodies was his most commercial album, there's no doubt about it, but I still enjoyed some of the tracks, particularly Don't Stop.

I think people who jump all over ATB are the same people who usually jump all over *anything* that's commercial. I listen to his stuff, and I enjoy it. He's no Sasha, but then who is?

well, once again I got introduced to electronica by tracks like his, but I think he's mostly a cheese producer. used to love "9pm" and "don't stop" now I just feel it's comercial.. something I won't listen to.

But he's not the worst. He puts some chilled ambient that I like to some of his track, and I think that with some more producting skills he could be sort of a new chicane.. but most of it is just too cheesy. He should focus more in the chillout stuff, as he seems to do it better.

and let's not forget.. the guitar sound in the first track, that's ok. but that similar guitar sound in so many tracks of his.. err.. like darude.. every track of him takes samples of sandstorm.

one track of him that I kinda like.. "my dream". yet cheesy.

Really great trance music is best heard when you're lying on the floor, with arms outstretched, crucified beneath monstrous speakers. Trance takes the thump of hardcore techno music and scatters it among swirls of melody and elliptical rhythms, facilitating a sense of detachment that allows the mind to wander. For instance, on Sasha's Global Underground: Ibiza the sounds rise and fall together, working cohesively, like on a perfect night in the blue room upstairs at the rave, bringing you back down to Earth only long enough to be bounced right back into the stratosphere. The music provides an appreciation of musical space--the distance between sounds and the silence before the boom--allowing the listener to seep into each song slowly, convincingly.

I love Killer 2000..

And when 9PM Till I Come came out a few years ago before I knew any other Trance I thought it was great.

I also really liek the Airplay Mix of Let U Go..nice vocals.

Yeah I think he is switching his style from the more poppy cancun clubtracks to a "dreamscape" I read that somewhere. Also, has anyone heard of a song by ATB called "Utwór 4" or did I just get a mislabeld ID3?
