So can the comments about how "don't blame Mel, everything in the movie was true." It wasn't. It was based on the paranoid delusions of some 17th century Christian fundamentalist nun, NOT historical fact. And the visions of this Nun WERE horribly anti-semitic, if you bother to actually do your research and find out about them.

Whether or not the movie is anti-semitic is not the point - the point is that it fuels the fire for those that are already anti-semitic by reinforcing ancient and debunked stereotypes about the Jews.

What the Hell are you talking about now? The Catholics burned heretics and hung witches and killed Muslims. The Romans threw slaves to the lions, and other miscellaneous wild animals. Christians were among the slaves, since Christianity was outlawed.
