There's something I really don't understand. If a broadcast is originally sent @ 128k... what difference does it make if it is recorded @ 128k 256k or 320k? It is still going to sound like 128k... won't it?

I'd say Ferry's probably bigger because Out of the Blue was a pretty big tune over here when it came out.

But I was amazed at Homelands how many people hadn't heard of Tiesto.
Now that Urban Train & 643 are getting airplay he's getting a lot of recognition though, I think this EM is just what he needs to put him on the map.

Anyway I can't wait til Sunday!!! I'll be there in the chatroom at 2 in the morning o/ding on coffee if anybody else fancies joining me. We got a pretty good chat going in there for the Creamfields broadcasts. What kind of set is everybody expecting? Uplifting all the way or do you think he'll start of a bit proggy like at Amnesia?

cool
yea i was thinking the same, he'll go more prog because its the essential mix.. just because it seems that only oakie can get away w/ full on huge trance sets, if you look at scott bond's EM he REALLY toned it down from his famed 140 bpm mixes...
he was totally progressive until the middle..

im guessing dont expect a dutch dimension or innercity set, expect something closer to scottie bondie's EM... for better or for worse

Yeah like Flowtation said (bet me to it) Tiesto is bigger now than Sott Bond and Ferry but Scott and Ferry are still hugly popular..but Tiesto's sound goes down a storm in clubs now. I reckon his set will start prog but he'll just cain out the uplifting trance he's known for and just be in ya face to be fair..something to remember. Does anyone remember Scott Bonds EM from about 2 years ago? With Out the blue, Pulp victim, carte blanche and stuff like that? That was awesome very uplifting from beggining to end

I know prog is way more popular now than then but it can still work. Tiesto will defo play it how it should be in the 2nd hour, he just knows what to do all the time without fail.

In trance we trust....

A few answers:

- The set is probably in the studio (since they didn't mention a location)
- 320kbps vs 128kbps, etc... does make a difference if ur in the UK recording it directly from FM radio or satellite radio...

Recording from internet streams is not exactly the best quality...

satellite radio...digital quality sound

that's what they are talking about...

america has it now but it's not really that big yet...i want to get it that would be NICE!

just record the set & encode at 192

i seriously don't understand why you guys are paranoid about hearing this...guarenteed it will be recorded by other sources

i think this set is really going to show how bad tiesto is...bad at playing old tracks at least.

maybe he'll actually put some fresh stuff in the mix.

Get Sky Digital @ www.sky.co.uk - they offer Radio 1 as one of their audio-only channels!

BTW, i'm still hoping one of you record it in 320kbps or raw wave...

Tiesto on the EM is a rare event...
