I guess I was the exception to the general consensus because I was much more taken by Steve Mack and Luke Fair's set. I found Zabiela quite disappointing; the beats were quite jarring and resounded in a disjointed mess. Perhaps he was pre-occupied in an experimental state of mind. I found myself leaning against the railing with friends hoping for that magical genius he spread at Labour of Love.
I realise that DJs are entitled to being inconsistent, and maybe he was greatly inspired by his mentor Sasha last summer. I guess the lesson learned is not to expect so much.
To end on a high note, my friends proved to be wonderful companions, and shared my observation. We danced hard for the first few hours, and thank Steve and Luke for that, and shared some good conversation and affection along the way.
I'm glad you came out Erika. Have an amazing summer and we'll rock it at Carl Cox and Tenaglia(not confirmed yet).
To the rest of my companeros, you guys have a special place with me. Thank you for ending the event on a high note. I'm sure there will be many more occasions such as this one to follow.
See you on the 21st!
