Like someone mentioned about different people having their respective likings for their music. In my opinion, what really drives the crowd crazy during a LIVE set has many important aspects, such as the eye contact with the people, the mixing skills as well as new tracks that surprises everyone ( Everybody loves surprises, come on ).

There's no doubt that each and every DJ that has been posted here has their own style and talent in making the crowd bounce. Having been to a couple of live sets the last 4 years, I must say that DJ Tiesto is the winner till date, after attending 2 of his live sets in Toronto, and looking forward to his 3rd time in Oct. The way he teases us with his built-ups and exploding selections amazes the fuck outta me. One important aspect of Tiesto is that he maintains Eye contact and smiles ( with an ocassional hand gesture to express his charisma) with the crowd, the consistent relation of his expressions to "us" and simultaneously working thru his mixing. Some might say that I am just splatting all the good shit about him, but in reality, I witnessed all these.

Tiesto is also one of the healthiest DJ's I've ever met. He doesn't take red meat and neither does he drink. A health freak I suppose and which I think all DJ's should be to survive the long 8-10 hr sets.

As for Sasha, he is an excellent progressive DJ, but his attitude just pisses ppl off. Back in the old days of Twilo, where he would just drink to his hearts content and slouch in the corner while Digweed is working his ass off. Ppl often disses him off for his unfriendliness, I personally have no comment on that.

Torontonians are all expecting Ferry Corsten to finally show up on the 29th, but I think he'll stand us up again.

See how so many factors that affects a DJ's performance? I am nobody to judge and am just informing based on my personal experiences.

In my heart, the most hardworking DJ/producer will be the best DJ in the world. Take a look at Tiesto schedule and how he manages to squeeze time in for productions and remixes, that i am still puzzled. Aren't you?

couple of months ago, i would have said tiesto.. tiesto is still in my top 5 but, i think Ferry corsten deserves the best DJ in the world at the moment... i saw him live and he is just incredible.. knows how to read the crowd and def a crowd pleaser.. his mixing skill is seamless and just the way he knows how to move the crowd is amazing. i find it espcially touching when ferry smiles and waves to the crowd. call me sappy but, his timid smile is sooo cute.not to mention that his tracks elctions are greaaaat!! he may not be as lively as other Djs, but i think thats just b/c he extremely shy
anyhow, he def has the skill to be the worlds best DJ... if Oakie can be in the guiness book of world record for best DJ, then Ferry can as well as for tiesto, well he def has the skills and the charisma but, his (attempt)movement toward the progressive scene, has turned me off. at least Ferry is sticking to his gun and doing wut he does best rather than venture into the world of unknown...

so my top 5 DJs would be:

*DJ Tiesto
*Mauro Picotto
*Johan Gielen <--- i think hes totally underated.. just my 2cents
