All the AUTAs thought that set was awesome at the time! They were raving about it for weeks after.......but then some people had their doubts after they heard the liveset recording. Everyone still had a great time though, by the sounds of things.

Hehe that set was only supposed to be kept quiet among aussie TAs, but it has spread all over the place.

Maybe if you didn't listen to ASOT every week and download all of Armin's sets and all the latest tracks, then you wouldn't be so quick to bash Armin Van Buuren.

Here's an idea: don't listen to ASOT, don't download any more sets, don't download any more tracks and then go see him or any other DJ......you guys seem to forget that a DJ plays for the people in the club, not all the 1337 mp3 kiddies and ASOT nerds who have heard every set that he does and every new track a thousand times.

I seem to remember exactly the same arguments last year about how PVD kept playing the same sets over and over again. DJs play for the people in the club, not the people on the internet.

the shorter armin plays the better. When he gets into thoes longer 4-6 hour sets he has problems. The problem that i have with armin is that i can walk 3 feet over to my decks and play the exact same set. Yea my mixing isnt as good, but big deal.

you left out one key element....location. we can't just get up and see him when he comes to town if you live far away...listening to sets is like going to see him in my book. it's all about the music. unless he knows how to do amazing backflips and shit while he's onstage

the shorter the better? maybe if you want a cookie cutter set of anthems.....and thats when i dont get much satisfaction from a set....longer sets make for creativity....and a journey...instead of trying to play all your fave tunes mashed into two hrs......but that is what you going to get on a normal tour date/clubnite in smaller cities where 2-3 hr sets are the norm...i crave extended sets and lucky for me, i live close to a club that can offer them on a regular basis (Space) thats why im always talking about how bad i want to see armin play there instead of other venues in miami.

curious: have you SEEN armin play 4-6 hrs? i have....

lol you think i want cookie cutter anthems 100%, well you are wrong. Ive seen 2 5 hour armin sets(nyc), and 2 2-3 hour armin sets(boston). The longer sets have sucked and have been boroing. I wanted to leave after 2-3 hours. Imo armin can not hold energy for 5 hours with the style he plays, because all he does ie play

, he doesnt vary his sets, he may drop a single house track, or a single prog track, then play of hard track like mark norman. I love 8 hour sets, just not from armin.

This reminds me of another dj that used to/still does only play 2-3 hour sets...hrm who could that be.

Oh man... you hit the nail on the fucking head...

I couldn't agree more.. I have like 2 of the 150 ASOT sets.. Armin is a amazing DJ and I will never take that away from him.. I always love what I hear him come out with...
