Uhh, were you at the same Gielen party? Did you not notice the vibe at that party or was it just an illusion of mine?

It never fails that there is always someone who somehow puts down his Johan's set, no matter how good it is. What is worse is that it always tends to come from some up-start local DJ / or self proclaimed electronic music expert. I find this to be quite sad really...

i'd say it was an illusion of yours... but again that is my opinion.

up-start local dj.... LOL
i am self proclaimed nothing... just a person with good ears and eyes.
way to attack me personally ... why don't you come out to see me spin and then you can say whatever you want about my talent. deal?

this is what i percieved from my observations, you obviously had a different take on the set that was performed on THAT night.

i was only there til 2:30 am

but from what i heard the mixing sounded clear and clean.. no trainwrecks thats for sure..

johan gielen is a very active dj unlike most.. h'ell always be doing something.. whether its layering tracks, scratching, beat juggling or cheering the crowd on.. none the less he is a great producer.. which is probably why most people came to see him

so i dont think the crowd would suffer from his mixing.. although i dont know why you think it was off

i thought it was fairly good and clever

amazing time! my first time seeing johan gielen and i loved it and i cant wait for WEMF to happen already! JOHAN! JOHAN!
i have a bunch of pics on my phone but i have yet to take them off (mainly laziness) i will try to get them up asap i also have some 3gp video footage (not the greatest quality vut what do you expect of a camera phone in the dark)
if ANYONE ripped this set off of chine 100.7 PLEASE i beg you to host it somewhere!
also did anyone tune into 100.7 on their way home after johan at about 4ish? they were spinning some amazing stuff!

Thanks, but no thanks. In this industry not only do you need to posses talent but also a great deal of professionalism, something that I think you may need some improvement on. Saying that the 'vibe suffered', when it clearly didn't, sure sounds like there are other motives behind those comments.

agreed! It sounded like a personal attack on johan probably out of jelousy is my guess? i'm not going to judge, but he was solid, and gave the crowd what they want, so to say other words, you're either not a fan of trance music and came to the wrong event, or you think you're hot shit as a dj yourself and think no one else is better...

Johan deserved a much bigger attendance than that. If I were him I would have been a bit disheartened that the club was only half full. But not Johan, from the minute he got on he was smiling, posing for pics and really pumping up the crowd. From what I could see, the crowd responded very well to his efforts to interact with them. You could be playing the best tracks in the world but as a DJ if you don't have that connection with your audience, your set will not be memorable to them. This certainly will be memorable for me. That’s all I have to say.

that was my set i play on CHIN ever Friday night/Saturday morning from 4-5am..
glad you liked it

unfortunately CHIN was off the air until 4am for some reason (was just broadcasting static) so I don't think anyone recorded a copy of the set from the radio...which is too bad. it would be nice to hear what it sounded like...because obviously I must have been standing in a bad part of the club.

actually...i can vouch for dB and he is neither of those so please don't start attacking him personally because of his opinion.

everyone is entitled to their own opinions. he is not putting you down because of yours...so why do that to him?

and he is a huge lover of trance...of all kinds...new and old and also produces...no need for personal attacks.
