No offense to you both, but this is a ridiculous argument. When I made this thread, I knew alot of the TA drinkers would post here. That is the nature of the message board. As for the long post, who cares. I read the whole thing and Id heard much of it before, but that doesnt mean it doesnt need to be said. And, Orbx, tsk tsk...dont you know its better to ignore insults then respond in kind? |
Mate, the most ridiculous part is you not liking to have a drink.
I haven't seen one legitimate reason for not drinking other than poor justifications by those that evidientally don't have any social skills, which is kinda ironic because alcohol could fix this.
Why don't you go out tonite, have some shots, get pissed and have a good time?

Because I dont feel good when I am drinking. I feel thick-tounged, garbled, unsteady and far from eloquent. The taste of rotted grain (for beer, rotted fruit for wines, etc) doies not appeal to me. I prefer other natural ways of being social. Why dont I go out and get fucked tonight? cause im rolling one up with my roomates and a couple friends Im not expecting a good reply, only beratement that my lifestyle <> your lifestyle, but whatever...

...So let me get this straight...because someone chooses NOT to drink there is something wrong with them? I drank for years and years. For my own reasons I called it quits last year. I could care less if other people drink, but I'll be damned if someone implies that I am a loser for not drinking. |
and yet, thats what half of the drinker posts are about

Congratulations, you just made the forum sadsack list.
Its not a matter of beratement, or comparing lifestyles, or anti-country insults, its the fact that in today's society alcohol is like an inhibitor for good times.
You can research all the social sciences you like but alcohol doesn't just help ugly people get lucky, it is a common tool in maintaining a healthy and productive social life, especially one where positive interaction occurs.
To deny yourself the lifeblood of society is to deny yourself life and enjoyment, and for those that believe that you don't need alcohol to do those things, well, it appears you are giving advice on something you know nothing about.
