Creamfields 2004, Mixed By Paul Oakenfold

Released on New State Music 09.08.2004

Creamfields Mixed By Paul Oakenfold - is released via New State and distributed via Amato (020 8838 8330) on 9th August 2004 – and sees a double CD exclusively mixed by the phenomenal Paul Oakenfold - representing the sound and atmosphere of the famous main Cream arena at Creamfields.

The album draws on Paul’s unique sound, mixing progressive and tech house flavours with cool melodic trance and breaks and is a significant part of the reunited story of Paul and Cream – which sees Paul embarking on a global tour headlining Creamfields events all over the world.

The album is also a journey through Paul’s staggering record box and is a slice of his current DJ sets. The track list features a number of exclusive remixes (in bold) but Paul has actually re-edited most of the tracks himself, so the entire album is an ensemble of ‘re-crafted’ works!

There are also some classics thrown in, with Creamfields ‘diehards’ recognising some big Oakenfold / Cream favourites such as Sneaker’s ‘Scatterbomb’ and Auranaut’s ‘People Want To Be Needed’.

Over the last seven years Creamfields has gone on to become the biggest dance festival in the UK, attracting over 40,000 people each year. The 10,000 capacity Cream Arena remains one of its biggest attractions with Paul Oakenfold at its helm. Creamfields is the only dance festival to take its concept global and so far, has staged events in Czech Republic, Poland, Ireland, Buenos Aires and Turkey.

Paul Oakenfold comments:
“This album has been a real challenge, trying to represent the sound and atmosphere of the famous main Cream arena at Creamfields – great fun! This record contains exclusive re-edits of all the tracks and some original remixes I’ve compiled especially for this project”.

"Oakenfold combines his talents as a producer, remixer and DJ by putting his mark on every track on this album. Epic!"

Album Description
Internationally renowned DJ/Producer/Remixer and all around modern music catalyst Paul Oakenfold returns with a melodic trance monster of an album on "Creamfileds." Throughout his storied career, two releases have stood out as the quintessential Oakenfold mix albums: 1998's "Tranceport" and the recently certified Gold 2002 release, "Perfecto Presents Another World." Both of these releases embodied the uplifting, grandiose trance vibe that helped firmly establish electronic music in the global mindset. With "Creamfields," Oakenfold revisits the vibe of these timeless mix albums, yet in classic Oakey style, he does it with a whole new bag of tricks for 2004
Oakenfold takes the role of the DJ one step further on "Creamfields." The album features original Oakenfold re-edits of every track plus new remixes produced exclusively for this release, including the exclusive Oakenfold 2004 remix of U2's smash "Beautiful Day", an exclusive remix of Oakenfold's collaboration with Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell, "Time Of Your Life", as well as club anthems from Mauro Picotto, Nubreed, and D:Fuse. With "Creamfields", Oakenfold delivers a full two CD's of the classic uplifting melodic trance sound that he has become famous for, and the re-edits and remixes bring the continuity of the album to a whole new plateau. "Creamfields" is the album that Oakenfold fans have been waiting for.
