well.

i don't think you are reading too closely dani because you would have seen that Greg was just bumping polls for his own purpose, probably some stastical report with graphs and charts and all that Gregor charm.

but i agree with what you say. TO A POINT. The reason there are not more interesting threads is because we are not posting them! It's you and I who are to blame, and all the rest of the posters who used to talk about interesting stuff. You know damn well you got caught up in your man and so did I. And floBee is doing god knows what in Florida, Cubie is DJing 24/7, amdmaxx is buying a house or some shit, Lisa is in Germany, artie is checking out girlies, shamey is - well, i don't know what HE is doing, greg0r is in love and upstate or somewhere, JP is pvd-whoring overseas, arleetec just went on hiatus, highmay is traveling half the time, michi is workng and busting his ass at school, etc etc. WE GOT LIVES, girl! And we got caught up.... so now we have adjusted and want to go back to TA and have it be the way it always was.

but it doesn't work that way. As we grew and changed, so did TA. So if you want it to go back to the way it was you have to make it happen!! Since when did you give two shits about what Beema says? Take a stand, post whatever you want and make this place what you want it to be. I am not telling you to leave, I am telling you to stop complaining and take OVER! Teach by example. If there are posters left who can add to the forums in the way you desire, they will follow suit. If not, well, then I guess you SHOULD look elsewhere.

But I don't think you have to. The whole crew still lurks..

one more thing. there may be a lot of n00bs but they are good people and I think they would all embrace a more fulfilling, substantial forum with interesting discussions and whatnot. someone just needs to start it all off.

$.02

very well put Bree. I would def. get involved in any kind of intellectual thread that was created. There's nothing betrer than an intellectually stimulating convo. It has substance, and that's very important. HOWEVER, on the other hand, there shouldn't be anything wrong with posting about "so deemed" pointless threads. It's all about individuality, as "Z"(eyesofextasy) pointed out. You can't please everyone. We all have different likes and dislikes, and the fact that the majority of us can get along is a major accomplishment within itself. But the individual tastes we have are what set us apart and makes us a big group of "diverse Friends". To me, what more can you ask for, let alone from a message board. The NY forum, as I see it, is a conglomeration of the COR and other such boards mixed into one spot and maintained and regulated by a great bunch of pretty close knit people & friends who are comfortable expressing who they really are publically. Call me naive, gullable or what not, but that is the way that I see this forum. If you want to fault me for that, then by all means do so. That's your choice.

One MAIN problem we have here is that there is no NYTA FUCKING MOD that can regulate the bullshit and balance the quality and freshness of threads, posts and attitute of ppl. if theres no rules nothing will change.. now im not saying lets fuckin make rules on what you should/shouldnt make threads about.. we seriously need a mod that care enuff about the community of NYTA and is willing to act apon certain situation.. simple as that..

thanks for creating this thread daniela, i think there are a lot of us with the same concerns. there was a thread similar to this a little while ago, and i know we all put in our $0.02.

i rarely post in NYTA anymore. i check it out for event listings, and the few quality threads.

good discussion here, and many made great contributions.
h202h had some really good points, props to having the balls to post it. but it's a shame he lost some credibility due to stooping to everyone else's level...

unfortunately, i'm not gonna change TA, and i don't care anymore about the state of NYTA forums. don't think an active mod will make a difference in quality of posts, but maybe threads.

i'm still involved in the scene, still go to the parties, and i still see many of you out. i don't need this forum to continue with all of that.

i got a lot out of NYTA - found people as passionate about electronic dance music as myself - it's a rarity in upstate ny. made some wonderful friends, and i'm still close with them today.

don't post much, but always lurking. happy posts NYTA, and don't forget to respect others as well as yourself!!!

I don't think a mod will do anything to affect to type of posts either. They can try but it will take time. I honestly don't care. This is fun for me and will post anything and everything I feel like(within reason). What ever is on my mind I will post.

For example, the situation going on in Israel(where most of my family lives). But would post that in the Israel forum not in here as they will understand my pain more.

I cant express my feelings better than you did Ruby....I still enjoy reading quality posts and discussions, but the NYTA forum has simply become saturated with "non-musical" posts...Granted that many of you have formed great relationships with people here, and thats part of a community, but there definitely needs to be some regulations....

I am one of those "old school" TA's, but I still browse the threads bc I care about NY and its scene...

Yes "some" but within reason. You should be able to post what you like, but to a certain limit as not to attack, hurt, threaten (you get the point) people.

I also belong to Rhythmsim.com. They have a better set up. Have your bullshit forum, naughty forum, musical forum, and calendar of what is too come in the future in the scene. This way you won't have to worry about there not being enough "music talk".

Could the reason that this forum has become saturated with "non-musical" posts be because the music scene in the NYC area is also goiong thru a transition period? Did anyone ever take that into consideration? Face it, the scene back in the late 90's to early '00's has/is evoloving into a different one. Things change over time. It seems many are stuck on the old, which is fine, because you can't forget what once was.

well i was reluctant to go out and post this shit but why not... as far as stooping rock bottom (the level of most of the NYTA's) it was only inevitable, i was cursed out left and right when i started blindly insulting people (they took it to the heart even though none of it made sense...)

tranceeyez: my last post right, guess what im still posting, and as far as class is concerned you havent made an effort to show you had some so id shut the fuck up

fr0st: so what if i go to CUNY (yes i know its not havard but if you place it next to the top business schools in all of New York State guess what...im sure it ranks in the top 5), and so what if i made a fat joke i used to be obese my friend, and yea i was picked on alot from 6-8th grade when i was about 70 pounds overweight but i dont cry about it instead i lost it, and i dont insult you people to make myself feel better, its only done to grab the attention you all seem to long for...and shit i think it worked.

Vtec - still a nutcase, but i dont know what i have against you yet im just trying to find out why you jumped the gun on the hijacked sig thread and im teasing you every chance i get , and no i lied fr0st is the number one "n00b" on NYTA

id like to conclude with agreement to Dj Tek's post, yes this place needs a mod, a dedicated mod whose willing to toss out all those "l337" talk fools, yes we need to limit the amount of pvd tiesto avb threads to at least 3 a week guys (im only trying to be nice), the only thing NYTA has come to be good for is date listings for events, that i do go to from time to time...and i thank you for those "uberly" quick listings. lastly, for those who have replied that i listed on the very incomplete list of NYTA's who seem to contribute something worthwhile to the boards, thank you for keeping your cool and your posts intelligent (eyezofextacy and dj tek), and to those of you who decided to counter-attack my reply; good job you have even furthered my ability to piss you off without trying.

P.S.: Keep the posts about nothingness to a minimum and start posting about music and guess what i might just shut the fuck up

Just curious, where do I fit in on that list? I'm one that takes CONSTRUCTIVE criticism pretty well.
