escee, I agree with you totally and 100% on both of your replies. If I had time this is what I would have said.

Bottom line is im sick of hearing sets made up entirely of the latest anthems from tiesto, armin and the rest. If I wanted to hear such then I would go straight to the source and download a Tiesto set or ASOT episode.

I speak for myself and some other djs on TA, the reason why some of us choose to play anthems is because -
1, They sound good.
2, There well written.
3, Some of them are not preditable as alot of tracks are.
4, There not cheesy.
5, There alot more captivating.
6, Some of the Djs who choose to buy/play these tracks do so because they LOVE it and they stand out in a well programmed set with other tracks.

The day hasnt come in australia where an up and coming dj can PLay a totally unknown trance set and get away with it.
PeoPLe go to clubs to hear the songs they like...if it fits into a dj's sound and they enjoy it...then why not?
DJ x Plays a big anthem...lets say 'White room'. Then punter Y who has never heard DJ x says "Oh I love this track...that DJ likes the same stuff as me...I like this guy"...bang new fan.

not saying anthem sets are the way to go..but anthems gotta be PLayed atm.

Ya just gotta find a balance. Theres always room to build the set without too many anthems, but they are still needed.

As for whose the best, pointless. There are some quality djs in each state, bar maybe Adelaide

I was in no way implying anything about any DJ in particular and certainly not Steve. I think Steve Strangis has a style he can call his own more so than other UMT DJ's in Melbourne that come to mind.
