Why dont some of you get out and about and learn to live the experience rather than just downloading paul van dyk!

Talk about ignorant post of the year award. For one, some of the members of this forum are adults. I wouldn't be caught dead at a "rave" with a bunch of little 17 year old candy kids who aren't old enough to go to the club, sucking on pacifiers with candy bracelets on all sorts of different kinds of drugs.

So in order to be a real tranceaddict you have to pop pills huh? Well I just popped a tylenol because reading your patehtic thread gave me a headache.

Downloading music from the net is a way to introduce new people into Trance/ Electronic music and if they like what they hear, maybe they will attend an event when a good dj comes into town.

btw, anybody notice this from sikrav's profile?

Ahhh shit, I guess I don't know a lot about trance because I don't "pop pills" ...maybe if I buy some big pants, and some blinking crap that I can wear, and drop some pills at some cheese ass rave with DJ Irene headlining then, just maybe I might be cool like you...

6-7 years ago, I did goto raves, and this is exactly what was going on. A bunch of juveniles on drugs with pacifiers and candy giving eachother back-rubs. Thank goodness the scene has moved into the clubs.

oh so true. its just worse around here where trance is completely unknown. everybody just thinks its all techno. i even have a teacher who likes EDM, but he calls it techno. i keep trying to tell him its trance that he listens to, but he doesnt change.

Armchair raver? As in:

It's a bit hard to make out, so here's an explanation:

http://www.usatt.org/rseguine/FAX/fax_facts/idm.html

It's not a hard question. Some of us are wheelchair ravers. We enjoy music in our own way, and it's incredulous to believe preference of music and enjoyment of music can be applied sequentially over a chain of human beings like clonetroopers (clonetrancers?) being manufactured.

Live shows can be great but as been stated, there are so many ways to listen to music. Some people even do it upside-down :P

also soo true. im 17 so that means i can get into one event all year, and 2 clubs, both of which play top40. doesnt mean my opinions arent correct. everyones opinions are correct to them. if i hear one of armins sets and like them, it doesnt mean im a naive HS punk.

i dont pop pills either, i just love the music. i dont need pills to enjoy it. skirav, you are an idiot and clearly have no idea what trance music is about...

They do it under pressure (eat pills), or they do it cause someone they know is doing it and it has been accepted as a way of fun. I will take one "sometimes". I dont need to to enjoy myself however.

I have been to see some Live DJ's as I have the likes of Lush and the odd Godskitchen event where I live but my problem is that simply none of my friends like the music like I do and are prepared to go out to a club which is an a couple of hours drive away to listen to music which they find boring (The odd time some of them will come along just because they know how much I like it which is good) and don't want to hear. It really doesn't bother me that much however it can be hard when I hear of a big name DJ playing near me and I can't go

Sometimes I find that I hardly even have time to be an "armchair Raver" no matter about going to clubs
