When it comes down to the law, it is. we all get to enjoy life with a relatively equal protection by the law, because it is black and white. The grey is what the lawyers pull-off, but that's only in the common law countries. If hacking into a computer is the same as breaking and entry, then downloading mp3 illegally, is the same as stealing. That's how it works. Or at least that's what I've been thought at law school for the past couple of years. Of course this is not USA, so I can't imagine how americans feel about the law, since every hour someone get's sued because he forgot to mention that you aren't supposed to stick that hot iron up your 4ss (j/k). Anyway, honestly, it is the same, just read the laws concerning theft and copyright etc... if you don't want to believe it.

Yeah, but not even the laws are the same for everyone. For example around here mp3 downloading is perfectly legal.

With permission from the label/artist, which seem to be hard to get... you'll notice that the tracks haven't been updated in ages.

everytime these kinds of discussions come up, be it about mp3 or about warez, the people that defend buying everything are originary from "richer" countries, and pretty much everyone stands up radically behind their convictions, without realising that this is not a black or white issue, downloading brings up both good things and bad things.

Sorry, didnt mean to push any buttons by starting this. Just had a small complaint about those who expect free support when theyre using software theyre not willing to pay for.

This is probably the best sumarization of what I think of the whole issue... But my point is basically if you download the software dont be suprised if it doesnt work, and if it doesnt, dont beg for help. You dont really deserve it

It's just short-sighted to say it brings up good and bad. That's like saying having sex with a beautfiul girl with AIDS is ok, because it has some good aspects and some devastating effect, and yes go ahead, tell me how this example has nothing do do with the issue, because THAT shows me you don't think in black and white, or grey, you simply fail to think at all. And why would you want to ban or close this type of threads, at least maybe one of the readers will understand that what he was doing is wrong, and perhaps even stops doing it.
