That seems reasonable, considering it's only Fido users who are interested in roaming on the "other" network. Technically, there are no areas that Fido operates in that Rogers does not. Therefore, charging money for it would be pointless as no one would buy it. But for Fido users you gain a lot from it, therefore they have something they can sell.

most people it doesn't make a difference but i travel up north a bit and there isn't any coverage past Barrie on Fido.

so what i will do is probably just order the better coverage when i'm going somewhere and get rid of it once i don't need it anymore.

umm, no it doesn't seem reasonable. do rogers customers pay more in general? if they do then it might make sense, but if they don't then a 5 dollars extra charge still goes to the same company so what's it to them. it seems like they still want people to switch to rogers wireless.

wells according to those 2 links, it seems that Rogers wants to evetually integrate the 2 networks into 1 seemless one, but until that happens, theyr're gonna charge the Fido users a premium for that value added service ..

personally i get by fine with the coverage i have so far, as long as they don't start meddling with my existing plan !

some of you Rogers and Telus users might be rejoicing by this news.. but in the end IMHO i think it'll just be bad for everyone..

Fido has the worst service I've ever experienced though. It doesn't matter that they have an innovative pricing plan when I can't get service in my own home, or they don't tell me when I have new voice mail waiting.

i have been with Telus/Clearnet, Bell and Fido.

And fido has the best service by far!!! they're the most accomodating and won't fuck you around with hidden fees.

i haven't had that problem before .. but it helps no one if those pricing plans disappear. it only helps the big 3 try to maintain the status quo

i was equally as shocked to see that everyone else outside had free incoming calls on their mobiles and that we didn't

except for that Fido unlimited incoming calls plan
