Too bad the Giants aren't in the playoffs so that Bonds can cap off his marvelous career with a world series.

The Cardinals are taking the 2005 World Series.

Bonds still has two more seasons at least. But until their owner opens up his wallet and signs another front line starter and another bat to place behind or in front of Bonds, they aren't winning anything.

Woot, the cards are through and have looked fairly comfortable against a good LA team. Walker is doing the business along with Pujols!

With regards to previous discussions about the cards having no true ace, well that is quite correct but I'd rather have 4 solid guys than one good and a few mediocre starters. Last few seasons Matty Mo has been the "ace" but his form has been up and down this year. Woody has played pretty well throughout the season but has had better years. Suppan has been a surprise, especially in road games but at Busch he sort of crumbles. And Marquis, well the guy has been phenomenal this year. So I'm confident that the starters can do their job, the middle relief is the best in the playoffs (King is the man) so my only worry is Issy closing in the key games with a one run lead!

Can't wait for Bosox Yankees, last year was one of the best series I have ever watched.

Holly shmolly ... Game 5, Braves vs Houston ... Houston is 0 for 7 in playoff series . Will this be the year they win their FIRST playoff series? Oh, and by the way, I made a bet with my friend against my favourite team on this one - either way its a win win situation for me, either I win the money (50 bucks), or my team wins ... I'd prefer Braves to win. Shoukld be a very entertaining game.

That was an AMAZING comeback Braves had in Game 4. Down 5-2 in 7th, a 3-run homerun ... And FINALLY, Chipper Jones gets HIS FIRST HITS of the series - Braves have been barely alive in these series because of their dead offence, and the fact that their pitching has been awful as well ... It seems like Astros had owned them the whole series, and Braves managed to come back twice. Can they do it three times?

Anyone here picking Yankees over Red Sox? I picked Red Sox over Yankees, in my opinion, their pitching is a factor in my decision. Plus they can outslug the mighty Yanks as well, just like they did against the Angels.

I like Boston's chances, but there's so much talent on both sides that you just never know. Bernie Williams always kills the Bo Sox in clutch situations, and Sheffield is a monster.

I guess it pretty much falls on the Yanks starters. Mussina was lousy last postseason, but he seems to be in form this year. We'll see if Vazquez and Brown can pitch up to their expectations.

Hopefully, Schilling's ankle won't bother him too much and he can get us an opening win. Pedro's in a contract year, and his velocity is up after losing 4 straight, so they should at least pull one win in NY.

Nonetheless it's going to be a great series, and win or lose I'm going to be hurting in my classes over the next two weeks.

I didn't see the rest of the game, because the cable went out

I'm guessin the cable guys must be Yankee fans.

Well I wasn't able to see most of the game because I had other stuff to do, but I heard it was 6-0 (Yankees) where I was.

I came back last night and it was the bottom of the 7th and it was 5-8.

watched the Sox come back with 2 more runs in the 8th and it was only a 1 run ballgame.

But then the Yankees came back with 2 more runs in the bottom of the 8th and that was all she wrote..

Still though, I admire the Red Sox for coming back from such a defecit. I think this shows how intense the ALCS is going to be.

well last nights game showed some stuff
Schilling injury is making him unconfortable
The Redsox manager never checked up on him once to talk to him and even pull him out of the game during Schillings disastrous outing.(cough like last year with Pedro cough). They gotta treat each game like a game 7 when it comes to pitching desicions.
Yankees showed their weakness once again, the middle relief,I dont see them winning this series with that bullpen.yankees arent gonna score 10 runs every game (maybe they will haha)i mean pedros history with them and Arroyo u never know.

Anyways Im more into the cardinals right now they should demolish Backe (never heard of him till today haha)
also whats up with Fox showing both games at the same time
obviously most of the country will get the yankee game on fox but I dunno I dont think its right to do that.Ill be seeing the cardinals game on FSN, well that and the USA panama and Brazil Colombia game haha.
Go Cardinals ,screw the rest of em.
