After a long and rough week, I was absolutely ready for a great time! I wasn't disappointed! There couldn't have been a better way to celebrate a Buzzlife anniversary party! Scott Henry...and...even better...Mauro Picotto...in the main room! Before Mauro took the decks, Scott Henry threw down some sick tunes. I loved it when Scott Henry played Nitzer Ebb - Control I'm Here and New Order - Blue Monday!!! Once Mauro Picotto took over the decks, I couldn't bring myself to leave the main room! The last two hours of Mauro's set were absolutely sick!!!!! I didn't recognize the vast majority of the tracks...all that mattered about the music was that it was hard bangin' and that it kept me moving! Three hours of the Lizard Man wasn't enough! It's a shame we don't get techno DJs of the same caliber as Mauro! The moment of the night was Mauro coming back for the encore and throwing down Pulsar!!!!! I couldn't have been happier! We can only hope that Mauro Picotto will be back in DC!

It was my third year going to a Buzzlife anniversary party...it was hands down the best ever!

Well, it was nice meeting those of you that I did meet, and I had a generally good time though I will be honest when I say that Picotto bored the shit out of me until the last 45 minutes or so.

The club experience itself was a bit odd for me for several reasons:

A; I like the layout of the club in general with the exception that there are too few bars for a place that big. Vision in Chicago is about half the size and has at least twice the number of bars and has "beer bitches" all over the place too. I also thought they needed more light off on the sides, just to facilitate moving around when not in the middle of the dance floor.

B: Being patted down at the entrance and having to throw away a new pack of gum because it was open (thank god I had another one still in the wrapper) was a new experience.

C: Too many candy kids and 12 year olds with glow sticks. I am not used to going to places that are not 21+ so needless to say that was an eye opener.

D: Seeing people physically thrown out of the club or dragged passed out (maybe OD'd) from the VIP room was definitely a new thing.


But it was nice to go out. Thanks again for the ride Mebot/beema.

Oh ya....wtf is up with Nation having the Quake 2 symbol as their logo?
