You just said it my friend. If I'm playing one track in each of my sets that others are then I think I'm doing my homework. Right? I knew I would be stepping on some feet here and I'm suprised it took this long for someone to post about this, but I'm sorry if I've offended you.
This board with the exception of many that I've seen lately (ie: Max Thompson, DJ Ollis, AlphaStarred, etc.) play tracks that Armin plays or Markus plays and Tiesto plays and it gets boring. I just like to see diversification in this board and not the same tracklist.
The difference between mine is that I try my hardest to do my music homework. All day, all night busting my ass to provide something different for everyone. Please, take a moment and listen to any of my 4 sets offered and you will clearly see a distinction among all the others on this board. Does that make me better, HELL NO. It makes me different, and that's something I want to be. I want to end my sets in Ambient music, I want to play breakbeat tracks that no one else does, I want to include songs that shouldn't be in a set, I want to do all that I can to gain appreciation for what I do. I do this for not only myself to better myself, but to show everyone that music isn't so one dimensional with all the top jocks.
I'm once again sorry I might have offended you, but shit, I can't please everyone. I try, but its simply not possible.

PS: Remember I want to show that I am DIFFERENT, not BETTER!
[EDIT] I decided to take it down. |
i understand what you're showing, im just not convinced that you are that much diffrent (although i havent listened, so i cant comment on the technical work).
id say that this board holds about 45% trance sets (i didnt notice if they are in a specialized substyle or not).
45% progreesive house in a very specialized substyle, stuff that usually comes out on the same labels, by the same artists, with the same sounds (not that there's anything wrong with that), i think this specialized genre is called fluff-prog or something like that, progressive breaks are in this same category more often then not.
and then there are the 10% which are divided between "others",, i sit in those with my techno, ive seen psytrance there often, and some other styles not too often.
do you honestly think that you are in those 10%?
if so, why?
you play pretty much what the second 'half' of ta play (genre-wise)
please dont understand this as if i was offended, i just wanna see what diffrentiates you from the rest in your opinion.
thanks
