Honestly, a DJ like Cox doesn't seem to be a perfect fit for a small-medium size club. Techno in general seems to be a type of sound you need at least 2000 other people to get maximum satisfaction (or maybe that's just the way i feel *shrugs*)
House, Breaks, Tribal, Prog i can definately see being enjoyed in a smaller venue. Trance like Techno i'd rather see at a club where there's just a sea of people (mmmm, like a certain Guv club that's around here)

Dunno about DJ Shadow...I like some of his stuff, but i don't know how many people are into that sort of Trip Hop meets experimental breaks sound. I'd hate to see people boo the man cause they expect some hardcore beats...still, he deserves a platform considering how widely he is respected.
