Because Queenstown is in New Zealand, and its not all that big, its mainly known for extreme sports.
Queensland (which is the one I think you mean) is the state that Brisbane is in.

Well, Melbourne people will say Melbourne (which is one stuck up arrogant place, and cold all the time), Sydney people like Waxology will say Sydney, and Adelaide people like me will say Sydney too. Nah, Adelaide is a pretty good place, smaller than the other capital cities, easy to get around, cheapest city in Australia to live. We have a solid club scene, but not huge and not really much choice, and we often miss out on international djs that Sydney and Melbourne get. As for the unis, Adelaide has three which have a strong focus on international students.

Adelaide unis:
University of South Australia (UniSA)
Adelaide University
Flinders Universtity of South Australia

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!

I meant Queensland, yes. I am visiting Queenstown, in NZ, next year, but I don't think I can live there. I grew up in the NW in the states, and I've seen enough dreary rain days to last me for the rest of my life. Sorry for the confusion. I've been trying to learn French (meeting the GF's parents for Christmas... they don't speak English!) - so my brain is fried right now.

I'll look into Adelaide - it sounds pretty nice from what you're saying. However, it looks pretty far south. Isn't it a bit cold there in the winter? The Queensland area just looks more tropical/warm to me, but I could be wrong. Let me know.

Its more north than Melbourne (and so is warmer), weather is about the same as Sydney, but the storms seem to be less severe.
Winter maximums would be around 15-16 degrees, so its cold, but not too bad.

Brisbane would be a nice place to go, its apparently the good bits of Adelaide, but warmer and more exciting. Yes, Queensland is warmer and more tropical.

HAHAHAH dont get me started on this, whats with the fasination u adel ppl have with it. The adel boys made me hunt around melb for it, we didnt find it. Although gumble seen an empty container on the train and recently i have seen it in supermarkets.

back 2 the topic

Everyone from different states have some sort of bias as to why there state is better. Personally, if you want warmer weather stay north. If u want great parties all year long pick melb or syd.

Melb is more cheaper than syd to live in aswell. And as for getting mugged in broad daylight it can happen in any town in any country.
