Making the whole place go off the wall.. the crowd and the dj... feeding off eachother's energy. Everybody in the room just TOTALLY into it... especially the DJ himself..! and the vibe.. the VIBE!

well if u had a no name dj that dropped track after track that had a nice groove, yet made u force urself to bust a move while providing variety adn not restricting his playlist mostly to tracks on his own record label out of which 95% cant be IDed cos they arent even released yet so dirty while throwing in some flavour of other genres and were able to more than just beatmatch, crossfade and fiddle with that bass knob on the mixer....that would be an experience...the crowd but of course will love it cos the crowd is there for the dj
however in light of such art, a few names out there do exist...Sasha, Zabiela, Holden, Freeland, damn the list goes on of way more skilled djs...
in short, tiesto is overrated...doesnt neccessarily suck...but is overrated

whoa, you're really taking this seriously, aren't you?

i could start another thread, if you'd like.

If you want to translate your dislike of a certain genre into negativity in respect to the talent and/or ability of a dj to create a mindblowing party.. then by all means, enjoy your blissful ignorance.

thank you, i will avoid the masses and go-with-the-flow masses and find something better to listen to. Perhaps you could look outside your genre for some inspiration, instead of thumping your bible of trance?

Ahh... so he employs the assistance of talented people to help bring his vision of a track to life.
....
..
Wait. This is bad how??

Do I even need to answer this question? As a producer, I find the idea laughable, to ask someone else to make a large portion of my track; perhaps I don't understand the industry on an international level, and that this is a fallacy that is readily accepted as the norm. Regardless, it certainly cheapens his image, in my opinion.

Tiesto isn't even my favourite dj, but I have a lot of respect for the guy. He is the dj who brought me into the whole EDM scene, and like you... my taste in music has drifted away from his style in recent years. The fact remains though... he is an incredibly talented at what he does. And when it comes to creating a wicked party and vibe... there are few who possess his ability to do so with such finesse. Anybody who attended his recent performance at The Docks can attest to that.
There are lots of musical genre's that aren't for me. I still respect and appreciate what they're trying to do though. Next time Tiesto comes around... go check out one of his parties with an open mind. You might be surprised. |
yada yada yada.. uhmm... vibe.. journey.. banging sounds.. give me S4 over Tiesto any day.
