Lately i've been trying to get a job at some of the DJ magazines such as Mix mag Remixed Mag and a couple of others. When you e-mail them are quick to respond that they would like to see a pitch page and some published writing either with URL's that they can go to or physical writing evidence. They key to making a successful site is catering to what people want. If you make it a clean easy to navigate site, that has content that people can't find anywhere else then people are more likely to visit that site and to cause that site to be sucessful. There are a lot of websites out there but the ones that are really sucessful are those that people visit on a daily basis to update themselves on whats going on with there interests. Personally I visit URL=http://www.slashdot.org]www.slashdot.org[/URL] everday because it has a wide range of news and other things that I can't find as easily or as quickly anywhere else.
i enjoy slashdot too have been keeping a journal there for years...
