Konjin, I agree with you that slurs directed at ethnicity, gender, and sexuality are made every day in the media, but the line has to be drawn somewhere. When the right authorities catch wind of a controvesy like this and enough people are offended and voice their opinion, the people will get in trouble for it. Others don't get in trouble for their words because nobody takes them seriously, or their offense is not egregious enough to be noticed. It's true that this kind of stuff is everywhere, but we can at least start somewhere and punish people for the most egregious examples, like this one.
