as a gt veteran i can tell you that i bought the game the friday after it came out and so far im about 20% in, once you complete all the beginner races, first set of driving missions, first set of special condition races, i can tell you that the game is progressively harder. the dealership races arent so hard if you know how to play and those of you who play this game automatic should now begin go get used to manual driving. you have 10x more control of your car, your reaction time is alot better, and you will learn what you must do with half your cars settings. as far as the game is concerned its off the walls, better then any gran turismo i have ever played. if you want a car to get you started off in the beginning save up about 33000 and by the HPA Motorsports R32 Stage Two Turbo car, and play the special condition races. i just got my Audi Le Mans last night, and next to my 2003 m3 gtr fully upgraded, nothing comes close. the last set of races under professional cup are hard as hell, the best thing you can do is get some practice to get there, because no matter what cars you buy each race is 200-250 A-Spec points. and for those of you who have been wary of buying NOS, do so, it definitly makes the difference in the final stretch of a race.
