well you cant import fxbs or fxps. but you can program your own sounds then save the patches. they arent just preset machines.

its part psy, part trance. bit of a weird combo of both and its a bit raw at the moment.

sytrus doing the lead duty. the opening pad is simsynth (currently my fav of the internal synths cuz it feels familiar to program. also capable of some wicked sounds!) boobass is doing the bass duty. a bit blurry but its got some wallop. wish it was a bit more programmable.

and theres a 303 acid line with the ts404. im gonna rework the 303 line - the filter cutoff on that thing is so shit! the kick drum is synthesized in soundforge from a 60hz sinewave and im proud to say is completely my own work! ^__________^

the hats were all programmed out of single shots, most of which are fruity internal in the packs folder. i had to use some meanbeat hats because the ones that come with floops suck!

Shit...awesome tune...i cant seem to get mine half-decent...i hate the sounds...or do i say i cant program the right sound i want...

until i find the right sounds...similar to my albino n agonyx...it seems like Derivative > Djdustx for now...

Seb.

I'm talking about any vst for that matter. You can import wavs and other sound formats into NI vsts for example?

thanks, off topic a little, I know

noooooo! dont say that! im thinking of this as a learning exercise - going back to basics for a bit. im not too bothered about not getting the prize (...nah, i lie - i really do want those vinyls! ) but i think the best thing is that we all learn a little bit about how we all produce and when we eventually share flps we can sort of see how we all worked things out the way we did. thats really beneficial i reckon.

one thing i noticed going back to floops internals is just how much post processing is required to really make some of the sounds punch through. 50% of the work so far for me is done in the mixer and im filling up all 8 slots pretty quickly. which makes me believe i need to do alot more post processing on my normal tunes.

also - use simsynth alot! its *so* the leetest plugin in floops!

Unfortunately most of the fl plugins i have are demos...for some reason they didn't come with producer edition, and i basically only use free plugins. i don't have wasp or simsynth...dx10 i don't know yet...So i'm pretty limited, but i'm still having fun with this.

not all NI synths. the only NI stuff i can think of where you can import samples are: absynth (samploid synth), reaktor (which is fully modular so you can build a sampler or a samploid synth) and kontakt (which is a sampler full stop).

samplers are just like synths except instead of generating a flat tone using an oscillator, it generates a sound based on the waveform of a sampled sound that is played back. you can import any sample into the channel window in floops though and fuck with like a sampler.

thanks for the reply. I was askign because I'm thinking about getting absyth. So, you can import sounds into Absynth and use their controls to modify? For example, can I take a piano wav file, import it into Absynth and then screw around with that sound? Thanks.

yea i know what you mean. ive found ts404 to be a bit anticlimactic. i mean the features are there - fully fledged amp envelope. 2 oscillators. an LFO! its like a 303 with bells on top.

what gets me is how some of these are integrated. the filter is shit. the cutoff steps so badly. the resonance doesnt cut through. it kind of flubs for a bit then loses it when you max it out. overall it sounds flat and bitty. maybe im doing something wrong. ill try some squelchy aciiiiiiid! tonight.

yes although this is one of the unique features of absynth - most other synths cannot do this unless they are workstations or have samplers built into them. i too love absynth but its too expensive for me at the moment. so i make do with the absynth 2.0 demo, a peice of paper and pencil.

I'm messing around with my friends Absynth right now and the only file extensions it seems to open are ".glo" files.....does Absynth accept Wave files?
