No, he didn't just vote Republican once, he's been registered as one for decades. Every night he just blasts people for being "far left", whether it's George Soros, Michael Moore, the ACLU (which is really a libertarian group), the AARP, NOW, Hollywood, college professors, Barbara Boxer, NAACP, NY Times, every other media outlet and so on, all with great guests like Newt, Zell and Ann Coulter, often going unopposed. You claim he's fair & balanced when he doesn't do the same to Republicans more than 2% of the time? Unless this is a silly way of playing devil's advocate, please tell us what issues he sides with the Democrats on that affiliates him with that party. The only thing he doesn't seem to side with Bush in is immigration, because O'Reilly is much further to the right and wants the military guarding the Mexican boarder.
He used to claim he was against the death penalty, but that's funny, since he's constantly advocating the use of torture to extract information from terrorists and wanted Ward Churchill to be tried for treason and possibly executed for teaching controversial views at a college. I guess you would also consider Zell Miller to be a Democrat since he calls himself that (just as Fox News claims), but when you're speaking at the Republican National Convention and writing books about how the Democrats are a useless party, you're not really a Democrat anymore in this day & age. Michael Moore says he's an independent as far as party affiliation, but he'll readily admit that he's not a centrist ideologically. Zell and O'Reilly are certainly nowhere near being to the left or even the center, unless you're looking from the perspective of Mussolini. I'm sure you subscribe to the idea that Fox News in general is centrist too, right?
