I think you will find this beer is not unique in containing no artifical preservatives, as I have never heard of any beer containing them. The spin thrown out by the German brewing industry, would suggest that they are alone in not using them, which of course is not true.
As a matter of fact, hops, which provide the bitterness in beer, are a natural preservative, and have been used through history to keep beer fresh. The carbon dixoide in beer also acts to prevent spoilage. Of course German beer contains hops, this natural preservative.
