Nu-Nrg was definately the highlight of my day, and a damn good way to get it started. Figured i'd see arturo up in front where i am normally at. So we mostly just hit up Nu-Nrg and i danced for a lil bit then went to the main stage. It was either Armin or Infusion/Ferry so i decided to get to the main stage and find some room for later and stake my claim. As an ultra veteran i know what u need to do to make the night nice and enjoyable. I was on the left side of the stage(if ur lookin at it) about 5 rows back right where i could see the dj and where i could hear the system.
I dont know if anyone else noticed but all the djs i heard on the mainstage. Chris Lawrence, Ferry, Oakie, and even PVD for part of a mix had troubles matching the beat when they first brought it in. It had to be something with the system or the echo that the mainstage generates. At least this year i didnt hear that nasty echo ive heard from different spots. I do like to hear new toons at ultra and i expect the big name djs to drop some insane stuff. But id rather hear a dj tear it up on the decks technically while playin some older stuff and like i said SOME new tracks.
This ultra was fun, like always! i had some friends there and primarily chilled with them instead of trying to meet up with others. I didnt really see any djs "tear up" the decks honestly. Nu-Nrg's live set and Infusion's live set were what i love about ultra. Live performances > dj sets anyday!! Even stopped Infusion while they were walking around unnoticed. I was like HEY and talked to them to them for a few mins. Even got props for wearing my TA.com hat!!
It was a good ultra, not as good as maybe 2 years ago, but good none the less. I didnt do shit but relax after ultra since i was tired from a long week.
Edit: Oh yea oakie played 3 records i have, tiesto played 3 and pvd played 1 w00t..
