So very true.

Im a complete sucker for QUALITY vocal trance. Too much in a set makes my ears bleed as does cheesy, meaningless droning. A track that i love with vocals is Enmass: "so please" (the flipside of CQ) it gives me goosebumpies! still though, as pana said, it comes down to personal opinion.

I think male vocals are sexy .. The Afterglow, Unpredicatable, (can't remember artists, cfb going through crates) oh and d:fuse - she rides *looks at JPL*

and ... *also stops pulling off to behind silence*

Interstate - I Found U (original mix)

This for me is a beautiful tune. Some may call it cheesey, but it's full of emotion and that's the shit right there. Without the vocals it wouldn't be nearly as good.

Emotional content is also why No One on Earth beats Velvet Morning hands down!

But I guess it's all about how it's done and whether it suits the listener(s) own musical taste etc..

Lovely. rock on!

EXACTLY, very well said!

Has anyone heard 'Girl Nobody - Cages (Lemon 8 Mix)' ? Love the vocals in that, not that you can really understand what shes saying completly..

As for male vocals 'Young Parisians ft. Ben Lost - Jump The Next Train' is by far still my fav. Also if you like that check out 'Ahead Mixed by Scott Bond', CD1's intro is just purely the lyrics that build up into the next track, relaxing stuff.

my god, i know! so very disappointed when i finally heard it after all the hype. a failed soprano with no power to her voice wailing lyrics of love i could have written in primary school. ooh, maybe that's a little harsh! but in imho it really is quite a weak vocal track.

holy uber-WTF. have we all forgotten the concept of subjectivity?

some people like vocal trance, some people do not. no one from one side is going to be able to 'argue' that one is better than the other in a manner that's going to convince anyone.

lets say i like green better than blue. JPL likes blue better than green. there's no 'logical argument' that he can use on me to alter my aesthetic preferences, as aesthetic preferences simply aren't something that are developed on the back of reason or logic. 'yeah man, stuff blue, the whole bloody sky is blue, aren't you sick of it by now? green is where its at'... 'nah man, my dog's crap is green, it freaks me out. i prefer blue, like that papa smurf doll i snuggle up with at night'

the worthwhile discussion, IMO, would be 'how do i know when to drop a vocal trance track' (or not), or 'what should i do when the crowd wants vocal trance but i think its all crap' or 'should i even have records in my box that i dont really like if i know the crowd will go off to them' or similar.

the sheer number of 'that song is crap' 'no its not' 'yes it is because it goes bleep shnurgle bleep and the shnurgle bit annoys me' 'no i think its great its the best part' discussions on here boggle the mind. although when they deteriorate into snoups-bashing i must admit they get interesting again.

everyone has different taste in music. pissing on others' taste in hopes of reinforcing your confidence in (or the popularity of) your own preferences seems silly. like wearing thongs to a club.

^^ im not normally one to flame...but what a load of bollocks! this thread has nothing to do with when to drop a vocal track or anything related to reinforcing one's confidence

just a chat about whether we rate vocal trance tracks or not. nothing wrong with that discussion.

yes, it is very subjective, but read my old post re art. im not saying i know it, but there *is* an intrinsic part of art that makes it good, average or shithouse. you cannot possibly tell me that me recording myself banging on pots and pans with a spoon is as musical as beethoven's symphonies. and youd have to say they were of equal value for your argument re blue V green to be consistent.

in a discussion re specific tracks, there aint nothing wrong with standing up for your faves and bashing your hates. just like any good footy debate

Can count on one hand the sum total of vocal trance tracks i have liked in the past 7 years. Maybe none cause i cant think of any right now.

I think for me to like vocals they had to mean something and none ever do. Im always floating or the sun is shining or im catching a train or my lifes complete and rapture tastes so sweet or i see birds and trees all the colours of the rainbow or you make my life complete or im a supakainer or well you get the rest.

Standouts of shitness - Globe - Sweet Pain (Push Remix)if there was ever a track that deserved a dub it was this.
