didnt want to start a new thread about this matter so adding to the old one...
i went down to viva tonight to check out the new trance night. ive been curious for a while. so, um, i'm not gonna mention any names or anything. anyhow, there were 2 DJs there. one of them is someone we know, but not as a DJ (never knew the person played records). so this person was doing alright, fairly good transitions, not trainwrecked anyways. the second 'DJ' almost made me sick, and im not exagerating. i was shocked and repulsed, i would rather listen to azim and tazix play for a month and trainwreck then see and listen to this particular DJ. i am not trying to bash anyone here, im not like that. but anyone who has the nerve to call himself a DJ should at least be able to act like one (i.e., know how to mix).
im sorry if this sounds very harsh, but i am getting quite pissed off with people pretending to be DJs and doing this whole DJ/promoter/whatever thing when they are clearly lacking talent, misleading those who may not realize the fakes and fcking things up for others who know what they are doing by ruining the reputation of the music and the scene in this city |
This is frustrating to hear as a DJ myself. It pisses me off when you get people that you describe, playing in the hottest clubs and they clearly have no idea where true talent lies.
Sounds like another case of who you know, and not what you know
