tiesto didnt make that song
you're probably referring to the chicane mix of billie ray martin's 'honey' in tiesto's search of sunrise 1

which is not a bad song by the way

While it doesn't rival Heaven, I always thought Honey was a piece of cheddar.

billy ray martin - honey (chicane club mix) is one of the greatest tracks produced by chicane ever in my book...if u thought this was cheddar would u think a song like anomaly - calling your name is cheddar? it seems like songs with long drawn out vocals are usually the ones considered cheese.

the thing about these types of arguments, is that both sides put up blinders to their opponent's debate, both ideas are valid, its not a black and white one versus the other type of thing though. But that fucking honey song, one could almost call it worse than sammy, it has maybe like 3 notes over and over in an obvious stupid melody with those retarded lyrics

"if you said
that I mean the wooooorld to youuuuuuuuuuu
would you tryyyyyy to call me honeeeyyyy"

sure, alot of trance is different from your pop radio variety(but can you name any?)

but there is also alot of really big famous trance that is very similar to popshit.

comparing dj sammy - heaven with BILLY RAY MARTIN - HONEY (CHICANE CLUB MIX) is like comparing Chingy to Tupac

"DJ Sami and Lasgo are techno" and the people who know their shit or just have something to prove tear into these false statements.

Not only that but people usualy get into pissing contests on who knows what about music and they feel that if you don't know as much as them then you know nothing.

i agree, man. theres definatly some truth there.

No, I'm not saying that Aphex Twin is underground. I'm saying that more often than not, people get their first taste of dance music from the charts. From a young age, everyone is exposed to some form of commercial dance via the charts.

It really depends on where you're from. I'm starting to realize more and more that the reason I love this stuff probably has something to do with the hours upon hours of video games I played as a kid.

I love New Order and Depeche Mode as well, so it was kind of a natural progression to get into this stuff.

There's a few producers here at TA (Haak, max graham, davedresden etc.). Why don't you PM them and ask them to explain how their productions are different from DJ Sammy? I'm sure they'll appreciate it.

That's nice, 'cuz Dave Dresden considers his own music POP MUSIC. Now stop being a little **** and realise that your precious trance is as cheesy as DJ Sammy, it just isn't as successful.
