looks like we're both goin in now anyway but i voted Blues, coz even thought i'm a red, the original rules state the winners dont automatically qualify (althought UEFA can make exceptions, like Real a few yrs ago...), but 4th gets to the qualifiers automatically..
neither side is in yet tho, Everton still have to qualify and we still have to win it

Tony Adams was quotted yesterday in saying that the Champions League should be with only the champions of each league. I sorta agree with him.
They will never change it since its a big money tournament but it makes sense in what he said....

they should at least change the name from "Champions League" to the "European Cup" again or somethin
if 4th place in the League can get you in then WTF?
but having said that, it is THE greatest club competition in the world, and i love it!

of course they don't. But saying they won't even qualify is a bit premature. They're a smallish market with limited funds. But they're on the rise with solid players like Bent, Cahill, Arteta, Hibbert, Vaughn etc. Where do you expect a team to start anyway?

if everton do not get in it is a disgrace!
yes they will not do very well and liverpool diserve a chance to defend their trophy (if they win it) but u cant just change the rules midway through a season because a perceived weaker team is going to finish above the potential winners.
at the start of the season everyone knew that the top 4 sides would qualify for the champions league. the league doesnt lie - everton finished fourth and deserve that place. liverpool have not been good enough in the league to deserve a place in the champions league - whether they win it or not. the rules r the rules - yes the holders should get an automatic place regardless but that is a different debate - everton finished fourth so get the place.
