didn't the teisto one require cheese sandwiches?

I have been to concerts before where ppl have said stuff on the mike like "we will get sued for throwing cd's to you so instead you have to mob the stage to get one"

I'm pretty sure throwing cd's into a crowd is against the rules in most places now because of something that happened to somebody, pretty sure it wasnt this sasha thing that caused it though because I kinda remember regulations against throwing discs before it happened.

I beleive the turntable story happened because of some sponsorship issue or something, like he was made to endorse some stantons when he rather would have used technics or something, I can't be bothered to pull up those old gossip interviews, they are pointless things to dwell on anyway.

well obviously the stuff wasnt still plugged in when it landed in the pool, I'm not sure how much I should trust the BBC DJ's, but they said it really happened on radio1 before.

From what I've heard that is the correct story, although exactly what company suplied the tables is up in the air, some say Vestax, some say Stanton.

Again goes to show what a picky bastard he is.

According to Frankie Bones, he recently played at a gig that was sponsored by Vestax, and as a result the tables were Vestax. According to what he said on discogs, he is as loyal to technics, as any other old skool dj, but regardless, he played out on them, and didn't put up a fuss, and rightfully so, because he is a dj. In the end, to his surprise he was happy with the results.

So pleased that he infact continued to post a thread in the tech forum claiming that he would trade his technics for a pair of vestax tables anyday.
Proof: http://www.discogs.com/forums/topic?topic_id=61889

Now if an oldskool arse like him can be open minded to new decks, why wouldnt sasha be?

Because he a wankface. I guess you could argue that Sasha has the right to be a fussy little bitch because he is so much more famous, and rich (you would most probably be correct in saying that) and has done so much more for the dance scene (now theres where you would be completely incorrect.) But I don't feel that is any excuse. He is still a fucking dj. Besides, back when he used vinyl, his mixing style was far less demanding than frankie bones, so he really has very little reason for being such a bitch over tables. Besides, he would have probably ended up liking them better, if he had given them a chance. Just like frankie bones and carl cox have found.

Oh well, people have been sucking on Technics' dick for a long time now, and it was righfully so, just up until the past 2 years.

are u sure this wasnt a dream?

i really doubt a bbc radio one dj would have the balls to mouth off something like that about sasha in all fairness.think about it!

agreed..i'm sure if u look at any live performance setups (orbital, hybrid, nu-nrg,etc) it'll probably be similar, if not even more complicated and demanding.

hmmm, I think they would do it, but I really dont care about it enough to rack my memory to find the specific interviews that I am thinking about. I think what I am remembering though was actually an interview between pete tong and sasha, where he explained the entire situation himself, must have been in 2001 or 2002 when I saw that thing, I dont remember.

but really, ths is like, low level DJ'ing magazine caliber gossip, its pointless stuff that doesnt do anything but sell, no need to dwell on it this much, I would rather it all just be forgotten instead.

That's not very demanding at all. As has been said, most decent clubs have that equipment already. Even if they had none of the equipment, any mildly smart promoter would realize the amount of money spent to bring it up to his standards would be far overshadowed by the amount of money they would pull off a Sasha night.

If you think he's too picky, here's an idea: don't go see him. He wants to play to the best of his ability, if you're going to bitch about that then do the rest of us a favor and just stay home.

Thats what I'm doing.

None of us are in a club right now, we're sitting here on an internet forum discussing it.

I don't see how attending one of his gigs is relevant.

If you think he's being too picky, or a 'wankface,' then you obviously think what he's doing is bullshit. Logical conclusion=don't go support him. If enough people thought that way and didn't support him, then eventually it would get to the point where he couldn't make these demands.
