Hey guys

I am not sure how much this will help this thread but here goes...

Any producer who uses a sample of gets help from another producer doesn't get it for free... nothing in this life is ever truley free.

I am not sure how many of you are aware of PRS or know what they do but this company handle the royalties for tracks airplay and also for the use on compilations, TV adverts etc... Worldwide...

Now as Kuffdam & Plant, both myself and Plant are members. We sign up every track we write and any airplay etc we get a payment. Ie Radio 1 in the UK pays £14 per minute of a track. That money is then spilt between the artists, label etc.

So when Tiesto uses a sample, he must pay the original artist a royalty plus they will also get a cut from any airplay providing that artist is registered with PRS.

PRS costs £100 for a lifetime membership so there is no excuse for an artist not to join.

Now in the example of Sasha... I have looked up the PRS database for his track Scorchio and here are the details of the track and who worked on it.

Thanks for claryifying that for us Haak...sometimes people are too foolish to either make up their own rubbish or believe the unbelievable...therefore i stand to say that MIKE does stick to his OWN producing...from his own...!

Now the question is do the "nameless" producers, who are clearly are instrumental in the creation of a track, get the credit they deserve? Lets look outside of dance for a moment and look at all the rock, hyip-hop albums that gets produced and who gets the credit? Britney Spears, the lead singer of , Singer/Songwriter A Does Charlie May get recognized for all the work he does wtih Sasha? Which, by all rights, should at least make him half as famous as Sasha.

i don't really get your point. But

Britney would be famous no matter who the producer or writer is. and unfortunately no matter how good or bad the track is.

And for most of the sasha fans they know who may, emmerson & xl are.

Britney is a performer. She performs the track, and so is the face of it. Neither Sasha nor his buddies perform anything, so who gets their name on the track is up to them. I doubt Charlie May minds though, he still gets half the royalties for his writing credit.
