From what I've heard, he is not putting any of his money in it. He bought the shares with some loans, and once he get the 90% of them (so the other shares owners must sell their shares to him) he is going to pass all the debt to United. So he is not going to lose anything and I see big chances that Man U will disappear in the next 4-5 years, which will be a shame.

How many shares did you own?

lol no offence dude but i dont think you have the slightest clue about football .... a lot of true supporters refer to their team as WE which is what kato meant when he said our money and our club and regarding you statement on what would worry glazer more, let me give you a free class on logic ... IF we lose or club, glazer loses his money ... theres no OR in between

and Raul is coming to Old Trafford so we obviously have money to spend YAY!!!

Machester Utd was privately controlled before it was floated on the market. It was never a club that belonged to the fans. Even when Manc fans had the chance to buy shares in their beloved club, only a fraction of the millions actually did.

Glazer has seized the opportunity to make money off Man U. In that regard he's no different then any other business man. The fact Manc see him as the devil just proves they were oblivious to the fact that such a day was inevitable once the club went public.

I'd like to see what Glazer does in the next few days. A lot will depend on what kind of top level organization they keep in tact for the next 5-10 years. If Ferguson remains, and is given a war chest for next summer there is no reason why Man U can't challenge for honors again.
Man U will be just one of many top level teams who are in debt. Debt isn't such a bad thing as long as there's a clear business plan on how the company will turn over a profit. I doubt Glazer staked his personal fortune on a team that he wants to see destroyed. Think about it...would you spend even 10 bucks on a toy and then break it as soon as it's in your hands ?

Glazers not stupid...and 300 million (or whatever the exact figure of his own personal wealth that is included in the deal) is a LOT of money to tie up into a business venture that you don't expect to pay dividends.

I still think Man U will get relagated in the next 10 years...

Sir Alex is clearly not the man to lead United. Take a bow SAF...you're a legand, but your time is clearly over. Retire gracefully and help maintain your legacy.

If he wakes up a decides to leave tomorrow they are fuck'd. Arsenal and liverpool are both building new stadiums. THey dont have the money to build them, but they are getting loans, thats how its works.

He is putting his money into it, hes getting a 256m bank loan, but he is defintly putting some of his money into it. He cant just transfer the debt to united, its not possible. He cant come along, buy the club with no finicial backing on his own, and say "here united, you take the debt". If that was the case i could of done that.

Thats not a huge amount, its similiar the what arsenal owe on their new gorund. Manchester united have a massive marketing potential. They are going on an Asia tour this summer, which is where he will try to tap into most.

THe tv deal with sky runs out in 2006, which is where he will make his money i feel. He can use mutv to show all the live united matches if he likes. Again that will make him a massive amount of profit.

He can sell the stadium and lease it back, selling the name rights to nike which is being mentioned. They are already increaing(or trying to)the ground to 70,000. Theres no chance they will turn into a leeds.

yes, i dont have the slightest clue about football.

They can refer to there teams as we(i do aswell) as much as they like but its all bullshit. How many shares did he buy? or you buy for that matter?

Also, considering yous virtually no money to spend this summer this is probaly a good thing.

Actually he could. Raul's looked a shadow of himself for the last few seasons so i doubt he's even worth that much. Anyone paying more then $20 million for him would be squandering their finances on a player who will probably never return to the type of form he enjoyed 4-5 years ago. Still, on his day he can be a deadly threat...it's a pity those days are few and far in between for the last two seasons he's been a Galatico.

Bottom line...nobody really wants him anyway. Chelsea's got better options, and i doubt Raul could cut it in the EPL.

Except that the blue baron recently reiterated his commitment to Chelsea FC publicly. So unless he is sent to jail or something catastrophic occurs in the oil markets that results in his investments taking a huge loss there's very little chance he will be leaving anytime soon.

You don't invest hundreads of millions into a club and then just pack up and leave because you're bored...

excactly. So i dont see why people are saying Glazier will bankrupt united and turn them into a leeds. He isnt investing his money to lose it all.

From what I've heard, once he has control over the 100% of the club he can transfer the loan from him to Manchester. Sure, he is risking some of his money, but Glazer is no Abrahimovic who uses his own money for running Chelsea.
