From what I have been reading so far, 80% of our members must attend York University, so yeah I guess we can take on some S@Y students.
I was at S@Y for 2 years, transfered over to York just recently for fall btw

You should start a poll to see where people go to university because I bet a lot of people on here would like to see clubs like this at their respective schools. I sure as hell know I would love one of these at McMaster.

jungle night? i dont think thats present anymore.. i remember my roomates used to go to the cock & bull alot , and they said it was pretty much all acoustic and alternative/old rock type nights.. I saw some flyers posted around the school for the underground but nothing really advertised edm unfortuantely.. from what i noticed anyway .. i guess york edm nights are a thing of the past now lol
I don't know, I hope they have kept the Semiotic nights alive at least somewhat. I've been to one or two, they were pretty cool.

I was trying to see about a house/progressive/trance-only night at one of the pubs, but they were all previously setup with other hip-hop/top40 DJs, that goto YorkU. My girlfriend goes to YorkU (she's a TA now, too: supernova_girl) and we're gonna try again this year. If the night goes as planned, we need loads of support... and lots of alcohol sales... to keep such a night going. Booking TA DJs is a great thing to do as well.
Hey guys signed up coz i saw this post and totally excited about getting trance at York... well I can help out quiet a bit I am sure I go to york more importantly I am the Marketing Coordinator for the York Uni Student Centre which includes the Underground...already spoke to the events coordinator and she would be interested in hearing a proposal from the organizers. Getting signatures is easy it can be done quick....
As for semiotic it ended last year coz not too many peeps showed up... if your looking to do an event it most likely would have to fall on a Wednesday Friday or weekend coz the rest of the days are booked off with events such as Indie Mondays, Karaoke, Dirty bingo etc...but I am sure things can be worked on.....
Enuf rambling I am more than willing to help even with some web space if you need some...
