Total ripoff!
The original that they sampled from, New Order - Confusion (Pump Panel Reconstruction Mix), is way better.

Neither trance nor rated by anyone.
I also think Out of the Blue is really given an unfair rap by too many. To me its a really fun track, with that character in the percussion and bass that says "I'm just an energetic fun mofo", rather than taking itself seriously.
Airwave makes me sick, it's so utterly horrific. Xpander is over-rated, but it has a moody charm and is a lot more entrancing than most trance.
Stuff I find over-rated:
JOOF's Mix of Café del Mar. I was expecting something from this, after hearing the hype of various TAs, but it turned out to be over-long and blossomed into the Three 'N One mix, but a lot quieter. Boo hiss.
Oliver Lieb's Mix of Lost Vagueness. Cool spooky female robot voices a good track do not make.
Flight 643. If one Tiesto track is over-rated, it's this one. It doesn't even have a tune, it sounds like Tiesto banged a keyboard with his elbow until he got something interesting out of it. Not to mention the breakdown doing sweet FA. Ironically, I think Lieb did the best mix of this one, although controversially I liked the vocal remake.
BT- Remember. Ugh. A clever little guitary bit goes to total waste when the sounds of a pre-school talent show are passed off as vocals on this track.

It's true that the JOOF mix draws from the Three 'n One, but is there a mix of Cafe del Mar since the Three 'n One that doesn't?
I think it's easily the best Cafe del Mar remix since the Three 'n One. It brings a completely different attitude to the track, very driving and moody, something with often fails in remix efforts.

I like the Lieb remix, but I agree it's quite overrated.

Probably Tiesto's best, imo.
It was groundbreaking. Nothing else sounded like Flight 643 at the time, especially not in the trance mainstream. The gamble Tiesto played with Flight 643 is huge; it was a significant departure from his tried-and-true sound, and could easily have been his biggest flop because of that risk. It's still every bit as energetic as it was new, perhaps moreso.

Totally agree!
