THAT's why trainspotters do it. i mean, a super DJ should be a complete music freak. people seem to have lost sight of that. it's his job to go out and look for the newest, freshest sounds. it's his only obligation to mix flawlessly. it is supposed to be the main thing in his life. the whole snorting cocaine, being famous, believing you are a living god, not appreciating your fans, accepting awards and fucking club skanks should come second, not first. it's supposed to be about, and only about the music.

Excellent.

The only cases of that happening is when a producer makes a big hit then decides to go all leftfield now they have an established name. Examples of such are Orbital or FSOL, and the producer usually merely switches labels.

I never said anyone is forced to make commercial music, in fact I was arguing the complete opposite.

I asked Airwave in a recient Interview what was the worst thing in the Industry, he said Tracklistings and how they breed spawns of specific people and lack of individuality (hence why im proud that i play about 30% indie Tracks in my sets).

i think TA amongst is having a limited impact with people being too anal about OMG that tracklist is so old, i really hate djs that play new tunes just because they are new. But i also think there is a bit of one-man up man ship between djs to play the newest songs.

there now seems to be such a gap between the big four djs, (particularly Tiesto and PvD who would fill any club in the world), less so for Armin and Ferry but they would pull in a big crowd pretty much anywhere.

But there is not alot of trance djs that come close to that, i really can not see another newer name becoming as big and that is what will eventually suffocate trance.

well, Airwave has always had something stuck up his ass when it comes to tracklists. he seems to be a bit of a hothead. i remember him cussing me out on the ASOT chatroom once (back when the show was still decent) because i asked for a tracklist of Armin's last hour. dunno, that man just needs to chill. i can't believe of all the negative things there are, he feels tracklistings is the worst. he must be one of those guys who plays a record and wants no one to know what it is.
