dude, i absolutely love the tc. i've had it since april 14th, i'm pushing 5000 miles with no problems thus far.

i had a budget of around 20k and i was looking for something: reliable; decent speed; roomy enough to lug my shit/occasional passengers around; easy on the eyes -- in that order.

for 16-17k you will not find a better car that meets all of the above criteria, as the tc looks and drives like it costs twice as much. everyone who's driven around with me had been incredibly impressed with every aspect of the car. the only option i added was side airbags ($650), since the car comes ridiculously loaded in stock form (the same options on a civic would push it way over the 20k mark).

if you're purely concerned with speed, then you can go a little above the 20k mark and get a mitsu. ralliart, sentra spec-v, or a dodge srt4 -- they look like shit and don't have toyota's reliability, but they will burn half the cars on the road. the rsx is also an option, but unless you get the type-s, it's not worth it imo.

for me, the choice came down to civic ex coupe and the tc, and the tc just beat it out in every category (value; speed; looks).

the tc has 160 hp vvt-i which isn't mindblowing, but it's peppy enough for me to zoom by most cars on the road (a trd turbocharger which boosts hp to 210 is a 3k option, but you can get a non-toyota one for less which boosts hp to 245). the car can easily get up to 100-105 mph and still glide around as smoothly as it does lower speeds; when you push it up above 110mph, you can tell it's working a little harder than normal.

negatives: gas mileage isn't as great as the civic's (i've been getting 26-27 local/28-30 highway); there is a bad blind spot behind the C-pillar (which you get used to); stock potenzas are so-so; paint susceptible to rock chipping on the highway.

overall, highly recommended (at least thus far).

I know what the sr20 is. The rb25 is more powerful.

91 Jetta GLi 16v, with the works except for power Recaros (just regular ones). I'm a VW freak. AEB 1.8T with a K04 swap once I find a good donor, maybe I should steal it from my dad's Passat, I don't think he'd notice.

and with a guy I know making a completely plug and play wiring harness, all I'll have to fab is a downpipe and shit will get ripped up.

I loved the old volkswagen that stayed faithful as long as it could where you could do ANY matinence that the car required. everything mechanical without having to bring it back to the dealer to fix shit like power windows and whatnot.
i learned a lot from replacing old shit on my 88 jetta

...known from a videotape the two made when they met in March... in Dresdens home, Dresden amputated Gabriels penis and Dresden and Gabriel ate the penis together...Gabriel had insisted that Dresden bite his penis off; this did not work.. Dresden used a knife. When that knife turned out to be too blunt, Dresden used a sharper knife to slice the penis off. Gabriel apparently tried to eat his share of his own penis..but could not because it was too..."chewy". Dresden then sautéed the penis in a pan with salt, pepper, and garlic.

anyways, anyone take their car to the tracks? I go to the track just about everytime it is open, just to watch of course. Evos and SRT-4s really stir up the place. and the new mustangs are really slow
lmao it's faster than an srt-4 stock v stock. you may say no but the stock rwd mustang gt runs a 14.x a hell of a lot easier and more often than a stock srt-4 will hit the mid 14 second range. On street tires of course.

look at my sig.

I drive a 1984 Chevrolet Citation II (that's older than most of you on these boards)

I also have a 1968 Mercury Cougar (that's older than every single one of you bitches except for a select few that i can count on one hand only). It used to be my daily driver for awhile but it's parked now for various reasons.

I'm going to get a 2003 Mercury Maruader because i love big cars like Crown Vics and Impalas and Grand Marquis'.
