Colaratura in 'the magic flute' is incredible and lots of fun!

THis thread has reminded me of Classical/Trance cross-genre tunes that others seem to love but I find incredibly tacky. Why is that every Classical tune that gets a remix (e.g. Adagio for Strings, The Lamb) is one that's already been overplayed on the Classic-FM playlist for about 2 years. And now I have to listen to it again on the dance floor. Soooo very boring. Am I the only one that feels this way?

Either some of you don't listen to as much dance music as I do, or you have more time on your hands than most people. I do like other varieties of music, but dance styles consume so much of my time and attention that I simply don't have room to follow others in a serious way. There's just too much material. Nor do I really mind, because I don't feel anything near the affinity I do for the family of electronic styles.

Non-dance genres I listen to:

Ambient (Eno, Tangerine Dream, Robert Rich)
New Age/Ethnic (Enya, Loreena McKennitt, Enigma)
Angsty Coffehouse Women (Fiona Apple, Mia Doi Todd, Shawn Colvin)
Some jazz (Getz and Giberto hold a special place)
Some classical (mostly Baroque-era; generally dislike romanticism and modern)

Yup, agreed. I only wish there were more hours in the day... Maybe I am spreading myself a little too thin, but I would rather do that than restrict myself to one musical genre for my entire life.
