Since his early renaisance days right up til now house and breaks have always been by far his main thing...

Maybe it was more on the progressive side...but isnt that what Armin is playing at the moment? Think GU013...

And yes its fun to be arrogant once in awhile...

Yeah, he is boring and so is the music that he produces and plays, Sashas music is made for funerals. But that is my view because I dislike Sashas style, thats why im saying Armin and Sasha have two different styles.

dont exaggerate mr cookie trance. I am not the biggest fan of Sashas current style either. I loved the style he had during 98/99. GU13 is still one of the best mix CDs I own. But I woulndt say that he plays shit music nowadays. Its just not my style so to say.
With that said its still good that he isnt playing Armin style. How fun would it be to be one of the 100 Armins which already are out there?

Fuckin great review...

I find this whole Sasha v Armin comparison hilarious being that Armin's track : Blue Fear appears on one of Sasha and Digweed's early cd's - Northern Exposure II - West Coast Edition from January 1998.

I think this pretty much disputes the arguement that Armin is some kind of baby in the scene, and also the arguement that his style was so much different than Sasha's.

The reviewer was on point in saying that Shivers was not groundbreaking, but I think he did miss the mark by forgetting that Armin has contributed to the trance genre as a producer in the past.

Even if he would be one of '100 Armins' out there, which I'm not saying he is, he would be the original one, because of his work and results that you're all aware of he hasn't got to bow down to anyone.
As far as Shivers is concerned and the review it got, I'm with swisstoni on this one, BBC is one of many and personally their expertise in EDM is as good as the shit they're playing nowadays, gush of crap.
Anyway if I understand correctly the album's background, Armin has a lot of remixes ready, and from there it can go in any direction, see he has something he can remix anyway he wants and it's his own either way you take it. I believe it's probably a business decision.
I like 2 songs very much Zocalo and Empty State, absolutely great.
Shivers is 50-50 with anyone you ask, either like it or you don't, and same goes for Serenity. Hymne is pretty good too, other vocal tracks like Gold Digger, Who Is Waching, Gypsy, Wall Of Sound are all that will probably see remix. And Control Freak and Bounce Back are really the old Armin sound. See it might not all be trance, but Armin has built himself a ground where he can play with the sounds, without being bothered wether someone will like it or not, because let's face it, even with all you guys spitting on it, there'll be a lot of people there that like the album, and when he's done remixing it, it'll slowly get into TA people too, so he'll catch 2 flies with 1 swing. You just got to see the big picture.
He does the music because he likes it, not you, and in my book that's staying true to yourself, which is exactly the opposite than what people have been accusing him, ie. playing music for the people etc. like some other DJs are doing. So he's doing just fine, and I think Shivers will too, and TA will still be where it is.

off topic: theirs obvious signs of armin lovers in here, and obvious signs of armin haters, a few posts of '+1 with smilies' spring to mind. Fact is, its a critical review of Armin, and some love it when Armin is criticised.

Generally, Dr. Schwarzbein is on the right track. However, as someone who was diagnosed with Insulin Resistance Syndrome two and a half years ago and who has tried every possible way of eating, I can confidently state that there is no way to recover from the symptoms of this illness--diabetes, high blood pressure, high insulin, high cholesterol, high triglycerides and obesity--and eat as many starchy vegetables and grain products as Schwarzbein includes in this cookbook. I'm not surprised that another reviewer and his wife experienced a surge in cholesterol level from eating this way. In her orignal book, The Schwarzbein Princple, Dr. Schwarzbein shows several levels of recommended carbohydrate consumption based on the physical health of the individual. If you have any or all of the above-listed symptoms, I can tell you from experience that you must use the lowest carb level she recommends, which means you will have to be very selective with the recipes in this book. I can tell you from personal experience that if you have I-R Syndrome or any of it's symptoms, you can't continue to eat starchy vegetables and grain products and hope to get better. I've watched family members continue to go downhill on the standard diets offered by their endocrinologists. I strongly recommend you try Protein Power, Atkins or Neaderthin and keep your carb intake between 30-55 grams per day max. It's hard to do, but it beats ending up blind or on dialysis.

Extremely harsh criticism there, totally uncalled for. I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Schwarzbein approach to vegetarian cooking!

I don't see anyone flying off the handle about this! So he got a harsh review, it comes with putting yourself out there can't change it.

7 years vs. 15+ years

yes - armin is still a baby in my eyes and it's not a rip on the dude - he can't help it that he's only 29 - just b/c he's a baby doesn't mean that he can't produce good tracks - he clearly did back in 1999 etc. - but he seems to have lost his way IMO
