Hrm, a Tiesto event reviewed on TA with far left and far right opinions, how completely unexpected!!!!!!

With that said, my review.

I didn't know what to expect being that Tiesto has fallen down on my list of fav djs over the past couple years. But Tiesto brought it and I had an absolutely fucking awesome time. My 3 friends and I got to the Arena at about 8pm and the line for "LOGE" or lower level had about a dozen people in it, thankfully. The line for General Admission was nucking futs. Anyways around 8:40pm they starting searching us and taking tix and letting everyone in. We got our seats which were 3 rows from the bottom and pretty damn close to the stage. Before it started we walked around spent some money and then got to our seats. At 9:35 Tiesto got on and the show began and the floor filled up quick and got packed. The upper levels didn't get filled that much except on the sides of the stage but even without a sell out crowd the energy was great. (btw as I type I'm upping 3 vids I took with my new Sony Cybershot DSC-T7 and one is a 5 min video of his opening that came in surprisingly clear quality and damn good sound for a digital camera with no bass distortion) The first few tracks were solid but I didn't recognize any until Whiteroom - Someday which went over well. The set progressed very well, mixing was good for old Tijs, and the programming was fantastic. There were a few breaks which could've been avoided but I still enjoyed all the acts and the change ups in track selection to match the area he was at. I thought the Tiesto - Just Be live performance was great and that singer was INCREDIBLY hot. Jes did a good job as well with Solarstone - Waterfall and As The Rush Comes was a nice surprise. Now I'll be honest I feared that I might get bored or the energy wouldn't be there but I can say that the entire set I was captivated and Tiesto dropped one great tack after another. Plus even tho it didn't sell out the energy was great and one of many highlights of the night was during Tiesto feat BT - Love Comes Again when the ENTIRE place sang along and during the last 60 secs of the tune after the vocals everyone chanted Tiesto after each beat count. That was amazing, I wish I got that on video. Anyways like I said the set was solid, the stage and light and SOUND was great, and I had fucking awesome time. Towards the end Tiesto got a little harder with his tracks which was great and I kinda wished he dropped Flight 643 but he finished up nicely nonetheless. At the very end he did the fake goodbye and lights off and then everyone screamed for more and he came back to do 2 encores, Allure - The Love We Lost and Tiesto - Adagio For Strings. We then grabbed a taxi and went back to the hotel because we were drained from the concert and figured the after party would be a cluster fuck. All in all I had a great time and I was blown away by Tiesto's set and performance and he goes up a notch in my book. I was completely caught off gaurd and did not think I'd have that great of a time.

Anwyays I took a few pics and will probably upload them but most of my memory card went to videos. Infact, if I had just dropped the resolution on the videos and bought like 2 1GB MemoryStick Duo cards I could've got the whole concert on video and made a TA TIC LA DVD.

The videos are a little large in file size because they were taken at a higher resolution than necessary. That and I'm too lazy to shrink them down. (cut me some slack, I bought the camera on the way down to LA ) But I will say this the quality is clean and the sound is damn good considering how good the sound system was in there.

The first vid is a 5 min clip of his opening and introduction.

The second is a 3 min clip of Lethal Industry 2004 (Awesome moment!!!)

Wow, excellent review ninetyninej! Wish I had it that together. My technique for getting to the front was to follow several trains of die-hard Tiesto fans who were doing the same thing...was up there in no time, twice during the night! I thought the crowd was remarkably civil for the number of people there, even up at the front, but maybe I was just in the right place...seemed that everyone was so into the music that nothing else much mattered. I guess I'd say that Tiesto put us completely into a state of Trance!

The t-shirts show "Tiesto NYE-Las Vegas"...hmmm, that's another topic though!

The track list doesnt look particularly interesting, which is obviously not saying that the experience as a whole wasn't.
