I personally think Luksusowa tastes like triple distilled rubbing alcohol, and honestly I would only use it as a well mixing vodka with drinks containing juices or cola (not even in drinks with only other liquors & liqueurs).

Chopin is a little overpriced imo, and I think Monopolowa has a better taste for less than half the price. Plus the little corks that cap the bottles of Chopin tend to flake off on the lip of the bottle and cork pieces go into your drink when you are pouring it.

So you get Chopin martinis with little floating pieces of cork in them and not even a julep strainer will get them out. It's ok for yourself in your own home, but charging $7 for that? No.

I have not had Belvedere, but I will try it some day.

Grey Goose is nice if you want a relatively subtle vodka that doesn't have a pronounced burn. I would recommend it for teh ladies because it isn't as harsh on your palate as your Stoli, but then sometimes you’re like me and want a nice stiff fat n' hairy Russian drink…Stoli.

Flavored vodkas are great too for expanding your cocktail repertoire.

Absolut Citron is the bombdiggity.

Use Stoli Vanil to make a great Espresso Cocktail.



Oh, and any great spirit you should be able to enjoy neat (only the spirit at room temp), and it will go down smooth.

My friend must have been talking about sotol-distilled mezcal.

They make mezcal out of many diff things, and really even if it's only distilled blue agave made outside one of the designated tequila-producing regions, by law it still has to be labeled mezcal.

Wyborowa is easily obtainable here indeed, but I truly haven't seen any of the other three yet.
