i used to be into the rock too, fav band of all time was prolly def leppard. but recently someone turned me onto a band called dream theater who i was surprised to find out has been out for a looong time but never really got the exposure they should have. now the guy who played them for me is an audiophile and does all my car stereo needs. he's got this piezo horn setup in his basement that's just mind-blowing. when he played several of their tracks i was blown away at how good & technical they sounded. these guys definitely put in some great production work into their stuff. i'd recommend them to anyone who likes the older stuff although they did just release a new album i believe.

heh it's called "brickwall limiting" used on 90% of all commercial rock music releases to make the CD sound as LOUD as possible but at the same time turning the sound into a painful mush

worst CD i can think of is chili peppers 'californication' yuck!
