They are not really loosing money from this. If anything they have the oportunity to make more.
In reality you will find that the ones making money from the tracks themselves are very seldom the producers but in fact the record companies.
The cost of pressing quality vinyl is expensive and as Mr.Flemming states it is hard to break even sometimes. Ofcourse you want to make money off it, as it's what feeds your family!

But even if you look at the cost of a pre-bought CD in terms of what it actually costs to make, you know that the record company is raking it in.

I hear a lot of people bithing about how much people make and this ticks me off a little. First up the amount of sacrifice it takes to run a label is massive. I have a lot of friends who recently have gone bust due to dropping vinyl sales or just the type of music on the label has gone out of fashion. Heart breaking for them and a relief for me in the sense that I never went down that route.
If you have a family to support, your house etc. then it becomes a different matter. DJing/producing is something that you make your life, it's only right that you should get paid for doing so, if you are good at it that is.
DJing is about paying your dues and doing what noone else did. It's easy to look at these guys now and say that they are nothing special but they were doing it before some of you were born and made EDM what it is today.
I agree that some of them charge too much for a gig and they are simply not worth the money they are asking for but it's partly our fault for paying the ticket prices that they in effect set.

Besides, a lot of the US guys should be happy, they are now able to get the same tracks as us Europeans for pretty much the same price (allowing for different currency fluctuations etc.)

Vinyl is loosing popularity no doubt even if it's just in terms of sales not necessarily in spirit.

If you really want to have a go at someone make it the big boys like Sony, Virgin etc. as they are the ones who not only dictate that we should buy mindless pop shit but set the prices sky high for the privelage.
