1) You may only regularly promote a night in here if you have been an
active and participating member of the forum for longer
than *insert time* or have made some sort of significant contribution in the past. If anyone posts regularly about their night, and nothing else, no hesitation will be made to delete the thread.
i'm not entirely convinced of this rule....there are (potentially) heaps of TA registered members who do minimal posts, for a variety of reasons (myself included) and so wouldn't probably rate on the 'significant contribution'...
But if i knew of an upcoming gig which wasn't already posted then i'd put it up for sure - and according to this it would most probably be deleted ......
Unless you looked at the joining date ??
...and i can tell you'll be looking at mine which also doesn't give a fair indication as i've changed names on the forum..

it's more with regards to promoters who specifically join to promote their event. i don't see anything wrong with TIT punters creating event threads

for sure but how would you know the difference? (Assuming they haven't named themselves after the event)

i think it is more a case of promoting for financial gain that narcism is concerned about. if you know of a gig that has not been posted and you think it is something other people should be interested in then post it. but when people are directly responsible for promoting a night that benefits them financially is where narcism proposes to tighten the screws for people that are not active on here.
to be honest i really dont care what happens, it is always entertaining reading through the different and random threads because that is where all the arguments start. if there are lots of threads that do not concern you then dont read them, that is what i do. i never look at the sydney stuff because it is sydney stuff.
narcism maybe you should just get rid of all the old threads that have not been posted in for say two weeks and be done with it and let people post whatever they want otherwise it all just gets complicated.
