It's got aux out but no return system, so you'd have to feed the output of your fx unit into a mixer channel - which is only any good if you can mute the dry sound on your fx unit.

Urgh i find myself getting sucked into conversations more and more nowadays. Vinyl will always have better sound quality as it is not a compressed source hence it is analog. The sounds you get off vinyl is the sound you get out of the programs that make the music (so long as it hasint been compressed which is usually very strange but you can probly consider it to be the same as a .wav file) Cds will probly never have better then 356 bit quality inless its using Mpeg 4 tecnology (which everything should be using now but unfortunetly not enough companys have embraced this tecnology so its not getting out their as much as it should). Now back to the mixer (even though this has kinda jacked the thread). I think the thing about the djm 1000 is that its designed for professional djs. It dosent include any gimics that they wouldent need as most pro djs will have sepperate stuff to controll this (fx moduals). An example of this would be the midi controls , the ability to change the return input channel ect. Please keep in mind for the "avarage" pro dj is probly better to buy an A&H but for clubs and djs that are really experamenting with the music and need a platform that will connect everyhting together the 1000 is probobly the best target. Consider it just as a tool for creative djs that arer moving away from the Match Beat- Kill base- Cross fade - Up base - Repeat process to connect their stuff together. Anyways sorry for the spelling but im running on 2 hours of sleep

the video switchers are these small rectangular boxes with 2 big buttons ( they look like the cue and pause/play buttons on cdj1000's ) and one small orange button in the middle. There is one in between the lcd monitors and the mixer on each side
