I'd dispute that on the grounds that breakfast potatoes are truly unique each time they're made, making each and every instance of every variety of breakfast potato an experience to be reviewed subjectively for it's own unique wonders...

I don't know, in all my worldly travels (yes...they are worldly) i've been able to taste the potato cuisine from various countries and I have to say that the country-style potatoes win over all.

The potatoes are all chopped up, add in some bell peppers, onions, red peppers, and whatever else comes to mind. Fry them up, and voila...a meal fit for a potato king!

Now Bas, while I may be inclined to agree with you that country-style potatoes are certainly delicious (In fact, the Pancake House breakfast potatoes are exactly what you describe there!), I still stand by my original statement. The context of the potato is essential to it's location of the scale deliciosity, for example, the Bankers Omelette at The Wooden Chair restaurant here in Stevens Point contains:

- Hash Browns
- Green Onions
- Bacon

If you were to attempt to stuff country-style potatoes into the omelette, it would be far less efficient, as country-style potatoes, by nature of the geometric shape, would have to be placed exceptionally precisely to take up a maximum surface area within said omelette.

You see in this instance, it's the size of the hashbrowns and their ability and efficiency of placement that allow for maximum potato goodness within the omelette, as it is easier, in a smaller amount of time, to get as much potato inside the omelette as is humanly possible. In this context Hash Brown > Country-Style.

Ah touche Rob, I stand corrected. I thought we were talking about as a side dish only, and from my experiences the side dish country-style potatoes tend to be alot tastier than the hashbrown side dish. The other day I went to breakfast and ordered an egg-white omlette stuffed with feta cheese and bits of turkey. My side you ask? Country-style potatoes fried to a golden perfection, with just the right amount of seasonings and peppers. So in that context country-style > hashbrown.

I guess we could just agree to disagree...but we can both agree that Jason's suck.
