Ya.. I think I saw you... your girl is blonde right?
I was dancing with my girlfriend all the time too and screaming our lungs out trying to bring some life to that place... and yes Andy's set was great, but not even close to what I expected, and you can't not agree that you and your gf, me, my girl, my friend and like 3-4 other ppl were the only ones dancing.
Im not a big fan of crowded clubs with ppl pushing eachother, but last night seemed just like any other night out for most of the ppl there.. meaning nothing special.. no andymoor fuzz... he's playing Air for life, and ppl are just there... standing.. talking.. like they're not there for andy, they're just there cuz one of their friends said its a very classy place with lots of single chicks. |
Yes she is blonde. Well I talked with a lot of people last night and they were having a great time. We are also chatting it up on another forum. Everyone had a blast! But also a lot of people in that club knew eachother. So sure, everyone was going to be hanging out talking and standing there at the same time. Doesn't mean no one wasnt enjoying the unbelievable set that took place. It is just a different atmosphere in Philly then NYC, which should be expected.
But hey, it seems like you had a fun time regardless. Just go for yourself and the people you are with and you will surely have a great time. Don't worry about what everyone else is doing.
And by the way, SAY HI NEXT TIME!

I think it's pretty much a given that a event in philly will be different from nyc, or boston, or miami, or wherever...
A lot of the philly regs aren't big dancers, but they are dedicated! My crew was rawkin' out the entire night; when we weren't camera hoaring!!
Also keep in mind that for 90% of the philly trancers, we just saw (and ate dinner with) andy a month ago; he brought a harder set this visit, and we enjoyed it very much!
And yeah, the parties have to move, philly liqour law is the mofo of all cockblocks, and I assume havo you were trying to get to Emerald City; where I was bartending, as per closing we were discussing with the owner the need for a marquee outside!! Philly scene is pretty much what you make of it, the city went after our big clubs with the nuissance bar law and the rave act, and hip hop has brainwashed most of the cities population. Not that it isn't bad/good, but it is different. 114 is an intimate venue; not a bigass club, and that's whats great about it.. no waiting 2 hours to pee or for a drink, no swarms of whacked out people, and a "up close n personal" feel and ability to interact with the dj. The logic is pretty much to put us all on an equal level to have a good time.
And I have to give probs to my Chadley, aka Chad Cantley, who opened up for him just perfectly... nice progressive trance selections and great mixes...he asked andy "when do you want to go on?" he replied "whenever mate, play til 2:15!" lol!
Great stuff Manny... looking so foward to serge and filo & peri!

Thanx for the post.. and yes I was looking for Emerald City and didn't find it... I guess you guys not having a sign outside helped it alittle too...
Well.. I can't really blame anybody, I have some friends in PA, living close to phily, i visit them alot, but whenever I come over we just chill home, or go to a resturant.. never out to a club, so I didn't know what its like there... now I know... Thanx.
