An underappreciated classic...*going to play it right now *
BTW I think it's rather wierd that people know about Age Of Love, Xpander and the whole lot, but don't even recognize the titel "Universal Nation", based on the fact that in "all" the compilations they have, it hasn't appeared on any of them.
UN has appeared on many compilations, although possibly in various mixes or remixes (esp the so called live mix has popped up frequently).
And since when is "appearing on a compilation" the most important factor to be considered as a classic?

o rly? Only interpreted your comment...
And it being a genre track? I've seen UN pop up on mtv even during the current reign of Hip Hop (or what's supposed to be considered as Hip Hop)
I really find it hard to believe that all the non-TA Trance loving/ knowing people you know have never heard about UN. (i'm not saying they have to like it or play it frequently themselves, because that depends on personal taste)
I've know people who never listen to trance specificly and still recognized it from hearing (although they did not know the titel)
And next time you roll your eyes like that, i'll whip you 7 times. Yea i know you were rolling your eyes when reading my post

I think Universal Nation only got that sort of exposure in Belgium. I've never ever ever ever seen it in the TV, heard it in any commercial, heard anyone playing it around here, or even seen it at any CD in the shops.

well, Strange World and Till We Meet Again was released after Universal Nation, which made Push recognized as an artist and gained popularity.. and M.I.K.E wasnt very well known... (hence the hype difference)
but i agree Palamos is the better of those mentioned. and B side is excellent too..
but none of those tracks even get on my top 20 list of MIKE producions:
Solar Factor - No Return/Urban Shakedown
Plastic Boy - Silverbath
Musix - Do Yo See The Light/Turn The Page
The Blackmaster - Time Never Stops
The Gift - Love Angel/Seventh Day
Ultravibe - Choose Freedom
Intimo - Retention
Push - Tranzy State Of Mind/Journey Of Life/The Legacy
Moon Projects - Moments Are Forever
Yves Deruyter - Music Non Stop
M.I.K.E - Elements Of Life
M.I.K.E vs John `00` Fleming - Ice Cream (M.I.K.E Remix) 00`remix is the best though
remixes:
Matanka - Lost In A Dream (Push Remix)
Quadran feat Tasha - Unlovable (M.I.K.E Remix)
Art Of Trance - Madagascar (Push Remix)
Cherrymoon Tracks - House Of House (Moon Project Remix)
Ayu - Connected (Push Dub)
Boomfunk MC - Live Your Life (Push Remix)
Fridge - Paradise (Push Remix)
this arent just random tracks, its my FAVORITE tracks from Mike..
System J: this music is just to "deep" and "underground" for you, go back to ur trance classics and let us M.I.K.E fans enjoy great trance music from a great mastermind..

+1. though i've seen it on several compilations. but the guys here are clearly exaggerating the importance of Universa Nation.
Don't think Oliver Lieb, Ferry Corsten, Dumonde, Tall Paul or Talla 2XLC would bother to remix a strictly Belgian release.
But then again, one may have never heard those names in their lives either.

Well, I do think they would bother to remix a country-specific release as I think they have done several in the past - and most electronic releases are country-specific as they get exported to all the other countries anyway. Still, I don't see what is your point since being released in several countries doesn't automatically means the track breaks the charts everywhere and gets recognized by a somewhat mainstream public. Example: check discogs for Bonzai UK. Those are all tracks released both in Belgium and UK (many of them from MIKE btw). None, or very few of them have got any sort of recognition from the mainstream anywhere.
